Youth. It was something that everyone clung to like a last dying breath. Youth significance meant innocence, life, happiness even. Youth was supposed to be something that even the most tortured souls should be able to experience, but for Malory Knight, youth was anything but a innocent time. The scar at the nape of her neck showed how much youth she got to experience. Her innocence had been taken away at a young age,far to young to even grasp the concept of what was happening. It seemed the woman in the Knight family were all doomed, some sort of curse to make them fall into the hands of men beyond reason and all rationality.
The trials of her youth were meant to rebuild her in some sick way, make her stronger but it simply ended up being her downfall. It made her weak,in her mind. The fact that she couldn't get over the things that had happened made her feel weak and useless.
Some things were only momentarily solved with a good old fashioned drink, though, and Malory let a ghost of a smile dance across her face as she skidded to a stop outside the festive store. "Benny's World of Liquor" was located in the middle of a small town in Texas that stood our for miles in the hot sun.
Her finger tips glided around inside her purse before pulling out a crisp $20 bill and exciting the car with a slam of the door. Malory took long strides up to the door before pulling the handle and letting the bell above her ding through the store.
There was a man behind the counter was flipping through a magazine and glanced up before returning to his reading without a word to the red head.
Footsteps gave a light, almost inaudible noise to the deathly silent store as she tapped her boot on the floor in thought.
"Whiskey or bourbon?" Malory thought aloud to herself as she placed a finger to her chin.
"Whiskey would be my choice."
