"awesome! i'm glad it's not just me, that'd be awkward." sea said, her smile impossibly big now. no one would be surprised if she started jumping up and down. if they noticed that they were still holding hands from that hand shake they didn't care.
"a-hem," james cousin tried to get their attention.
"oh! sea, this is my cousin, andi. they are the reason i'm here, their friend was sick so they had another ticket"
"cool," sea waves. " um, i guess i should probably introduce you to my uncle then... uh, this is my uncle jeffery. uncle jeffery, this is my dream friend james, i thought he wasn't real til a few minutes ago." both james and sea laugh, but every one else looks confused. sea turns back to james.
"what were yours like?" she asks.
"well the first and most common one was just you. you were sitting in the forest and just, reading." he smiles at her, and then he asks " what about you? "
"it always varied, but sometimes we'd have in-depth conversations i couldn't remember in places i've never been, and sometimes we'd just sit in the forest with you running your hand through my hair. no matter what i'd always wake up happy though." she told him. they were interrupted by laughter.
laughter "you-" more laughter, "you're still-" *gasp* "holding hands."
james and sea both turned red but neither made a move to unclasp their hands. the contact made this feel all the more real and that's really all they wanted, if they woke up after this it'd be devastating. and that's how they spent most of the night, next to each other with their hands clasped. they danced all night, smiled, laughed, and eventually gave each other their numbers, promising to talk often because how often do you meet the person of your dreams?
THE END.
