We often refer to the essence of living as the water of life, but have you ever thought about what is this essence of life? Have you ever thought why is it compared with water? Let's talk over this. Water is present on Earth since the time when even life didn't exist. Water brought life upon Earth. The journey of water begins from its solid state. Nice and rigid, cold as fuck, the ice doesn't give a damn about anything or anyone. Ice cannot get along with anyone. He's so arrogant that one needs to melt his heart in order to blend with him. Upon melting, he starts to experience the surroundings, people start to matter him. He starts being conscious of his existence. Mixed with sugar he'll be sweet, mixed with poison, he'll be hell. He starts being choosy about people and he gets surrounded by both, the ones he like and also the ones he doesn't. Against his own will, he has to get bitter along with Momordica Charantia and get sour with Tamarindus Indica. He gets happy when with Sucrose, Pheonix dactylifera, and others and sad about being not accepted by oils. For some reason he hates Aspartame, Sucralose and Saccharin. Maybe it's just because they want to be like sugar but the chemical structure doesn't allow. But life goes on. Water, be it his choice or not, has to befriend everyone he comes across. Time passes by. The universal solvent becomes insolent of everyone's behaviour to hang around until he's useful. He's so done with everyone around him that he decides to give up on everything. The anger and frustration rises, it starts killing him from within. The alter ego of water is awakened. It starts to boil. And the boiling reaches the level where everything that's racked up inside him starts getting liberated. He gets gaseous and vicious at the same time. He curses all the ignorant people that he once loved. Everyone is hit hard by a sudden change in behaviour. While on the way he meets some even stronger than him. Surrounded by gases, both light as well as heavy he gets scared. He gets into an environment where he is no more a priority. Nitrogen rules over this place. He's scared of Hydrogen, Butane, Methane, Ethylene and others who get hot under the collar very easily and flame up on trivial issues. He finds peace when among noble gases i.e. Helium, Neon, Argon and others but is also aware that they'll light up the place if excited. Staying miles away from the family of Halogens and their relatives because of their toxic nature, there are still some irritants like smoke, phosgene, sulphur dioxide and others who don't even stand when water's around. The old tolerant circle is not there anymore. He feels sorry for giving everyone a tough time. But he'd have to be reborn to go back to them as his self respect would be shattered and he won't be able to live with it. Crawling his way through nooks and corners, he meets Oxygen, a blessing in disguise. He states the story of his life to him. Being so introvert in nature, still Oxygen comes up with something that might help him. He lifts the water up and up above the skies where no one except them lives. He escorts water to the clouds which shall purify him of all his sins and help him start from square one. Water is now happy as a clam and feels the comfort of being on cloud nine. He sings the songs of joy as the clouds start raining him down. The petrichor welcomes him as he is about to enter the world he once left and is buzzing about the fact that the people he cursed have moved on and are happy because of his return. Learning lessons from his past mistakes, he is now able to control his emotions. He is matured now. This is not the life of water, it is our water of life. In our teenage, we go through the best and worst experiences of our lives. There is that one short period in life where we think of ourselves as "I'm born alone in this world, nobody is going to be there forever. So why be so good to everyone?" Ego creeps in and leaves us in distress. There are times when we're rough to everyone and feel as if nobody cares about our existence. There are times when we have that one circle we always craved for. There are fights, disputes, arguments, disagreements and what not. But no one has the courage of accepting the mistakes and move ahead in life. The time when one gathers up the courage to do so is the time puberty really hits. Adolescence arrives. The water of life indeed depicts the teenage of every human being.
