Edd was at Abbyton. Jake was comforting him before his next train when they heard loud frantic whistling. Tangmere came rushing down the line with the trucks laughing behind him. "Help! They're pushing me!" Cried Tangmere as he rocketed out of sight.
A few minutes later the signalman ran up to the two engines. "Tangmere has crashed! Get the crane quick!" With out hesitation, Edd hurried out of the siding, collected the crane, and set off.
When he arrived, it was clear what had happened: The runaway Tangmere was diverted into the siding and was going too fast for the buffers to stop him, so he crashed straight through them. Edd and the workmen got to work quickly.
After the clean up, Tangmere thanked Edd. "Thanks for helping me. I'm sorry for the things I said. I clearly misjudged you." "That's ok." Answered Edd. "I forgive you." "Friends?" Asked Tangmere. "Friends." Said Edd. And with that, the 2 new friends puffed home.
