A bond unbreakable was that of a mother and child, and it was this that had kept Lola safe and sound until now. Fate seemed inevitable. Rumors of the Blood Doll had erupted across Europe when the miraculous recovery of Angelina had been discovered. Cordelia felt every muscle in her body tense when Vincent de la Morte appeared at her door.  At this exact moment, she was also flooded with relief. She would die and Vincent would be clueless as to where to find her.

"Cordelia Sangria, my one and only love, you haven't aged a single day." Vincent's voice was like velvet, and his words soft and luring. He had been invited into her home long before and to attempt keeping him out would be foolish.

"Hello Vincent." Cordelia's response was quite opposite of the one she had been greeted with, curt and snippy. It was clear she had no intent of chit-chat.

Vincent's lips lifted in a half smile, a young man with light colored hair in his twenties, and a goddess whose eyes reminded her of almonds stepped from behind him to flank either of his sides. His left hand lifted to brush his fingertips along Cordelia's jawline. She flinched away from his touch. "You know this ends one way, my love. Let us skip the niceties and you tell me where I can find my daughter."

"She isn't your daughter to find, Vincent. She is mine and she is safe away from you. You'll never find-" Before Cordelia could finish the sentence, the caress had turned into a slap and she stumbled from the doorway.

"Your funeral, Cordelia. Skai, Xanthos tie her up. We need all the information we can get."
