Prologue
"War can't kill love. Love can kill war."
The black sky was only luminous for a millisecond as a flash of lightning ran across it , the rain was falling heavily and every drop felt like corrosive acid on my skin and like fire on the fresh knife wound on my forehead. The wind licked my face and slipped under what was left of my uniform like a chilling tide on an Antartic beach. I wrapped my arms around my body tighter and continued walking despite the stinging pain of the cold. I was going to find him,hopefully alive.
