You hadn't expected your day to take this turn of events, when your father had called you for a weekly chat. Informing you that they were on their way to your apartment, you began to panic.
The place, for once, looked spotless - just by luck, and everything was perfectly in place. Except for one minor detail, most of your things had been slowly transferred into your roommate's bedroom. Now partly your room as well.
Your parents liked your roommate, Alex, but you knew your mother wasn't crazy about the idea of you jumping into a relationship, not this soon after your last disaster and certainly not with a boy you'd only met six - seven - months ago.
At your age, your parents didn't dictate your life but out of respect there were some things that you'd like to keep an illusion on. For their sake.
As your parents arrived, detailing their plans for the next week, you listened as your mother babbled on about needing to find a hotel and how your father should have done that before anything. They were your parents, after all, seeing them to a hotel would be insane and costly.
Without thought, the words tumbled out, the offer coming so smoothly that you'd hardly had time to think it over. "You can stay here, Alex won't mind"...
