Eliase burst through the front door
"Silver! Please gather the ingredients to create a healing potion. I'm going to need it it as soon as possible, this is an emergency!"
She was in the kitchen working on finishing dinner. instead she turned off the burner and watched as Elias passed by entrance of the kitchen holding a sopping wet cloak. She went straight to the garden in a panic to collect the proper ingredients.
He darted up the stairs and headed for the bathroom. He nearly took the door straight of its hinges trying to open it. Elias unwinded the coat wrapped around Elijah's body and lightly set him in the tub. He then got on his knees and turned on the lukewarm water as well as grabbing a neatly placed washcloth that hung on the side of the tub. There was so much gunk embedded into his fur that it had immobilized his movement. The thick mud had stiffened overtime hardening in big patches. Elias cupped his hands under the running water and lightly pour water over the spots on his body that accumulated most of the mud to loosen it a bit. Elise than lightly ran his thumb over his sons snout smiring the slime-like dirt. He continued cleaning until he could start to see the white of his boney head. But when he brushed his fingers across his brow bone it caused Elijah to squirm which startled Elias "i'm so sorry- im trying my best not to hurt you.." He whispered. He adjusted his position over the tub so he could easily wash Elijah without causing further harm.
Being very cautious with his head He cleared the mud that had pasted his jaw shut. But upon examination, Elijah was missing one of his top k9's and also had crack in his skull that ran down the middle of his brow bone into the dark hole of his sunken in eyes.
The Pity Elias felt was so overwhelming.
He began to work his fingers through the coarse dirty fur on his stomach. Lathering and loosing more of the mud stuck to his son. All the access weight had turned his 65 lb son into at least a 90 lb mass of wet dirt. As he fought with the tangles of mud he noticed the rise and fall of his chest had quickened. Elijah had actually managed to get his mouth open to take in more air now that he could actually move his jaw. Elias was being bombarded with all sorts of Emotions. Sadness, Anxiety...relief. He knelt down into the tub and nuzzled his child ever so gently.
"You're going to be okay Elijah...i'm here..i'm here." Elias spoke lovingly.
He sat back up and began to rid the mud from his hind legs. As Black water rolled down the drain, elias had almost freed his son completely of the thick mud. Taking the washcloth he went back to Elijah's face to clean his temporarily stained skull. He ran the soft towel over his forehead, under his jaw and very lightly padded over the injury on his eye. Which he was rewarded with a couple of weak coughs from Elijah.
"i know this is asking a lot, but do you think you can revert back to your normal form?" Elias questioned as he rang out the once white cloth.
He watched as his son take a deep breath and held it as he lost his animal like figure turned into somewhat of a human-noid one. Once Elijah exhaled it caused an outburst of coughing fits. He still was missing his tooth and still had the injury above his eye. Elias turned off the water and helped Elijah sit up so he could take off his mud soaked clothes now that he was back in is human-like form. Then he quickly grabbed a towel and compassionate hoisted up his son safely swaddled the boy holding him in his arms.
Outside the door silver patiently waited with a change of clothe for the child. As soon as the bathroom door opened. A wet Elias emerged with a small body wrapped in white, pressed to his chest. Silvers brow frowned, no words were needed to see she was visibly distraught. She rubbed her hand along the boys back in an effort to comfort him.
"Thank you-"
Elias spoke as he headed toward his bedroom. Silver shadowed behind him. Elias laid his son down on the bed and used the extra length of the towel to wipe a few spots of Elijah's face earning his father a whimper from his son. Silver set the clothes on the bed and quickly joined Elias at his side to examine the boy.
"Other than the crack above his right eye and the missing tooth, the only other injurings i think he sustained were a few bruises and mild physical exhaustion." elias spoke as he unwound the wrapped boy checking for injuries.
"Although what troubles me is internal injuries. I have a keen nose when it comes to blood and he doesn't seem to smell of iron." He continued. "I'm almost 100% sure what we are looking at are the extent of his injuries, but i can't speak for what he'll contract later on. Whether it be pneumonia from the rain or some disease from the mud." Elise stoic facade was slowly breaking. He bent down and shakingly pressed his forehead against his son.
"I'll make sure your safe my little one." his voice cracking. Silver rested a hand on the emotional father's shoulder offering her affection and sympathy. Elias released his son and straighten himself out.
"I think as of right now all he needs is that potion and some bed rest. Is it done brewing?" Elias asked politely
Silver nodded and quickly exited the room to fetch the tea-like-magic. The sound of her heels against the wooden floor faded the further away she got.
As she fetched the meds Elias carefully dressed Elijah. He was able to sit up thanks to his dad but he could lift his arms all on his own. Now normally Elijah was a curious boy, he was always asking questions and loved to learn. Whether it be about birds, magic, or even his own father hobbies. He would talk your ear off with questions. Which in turn did sometimes rather annoyed Elias. But now, it was just silence aside from the occasional moan out of pain.
Elias so desperately wanted to ask how this happened. He wanted Elijah to tell him everything. He was so edger to be the one to ask the questions, but he knew he needed to be patient.
When he finally got Elijah fully clothed, elias pulled back heavy blanket and set him on the sheet then covered him with it. He sat down on the side of the bed and rested his hand on the small of where his back would be under the thick of the blanket. He just watched, making sure he was really okay. Keeping an eye on the consistency of his breathing. Then like clockwork the door quietly opened with a squeak. Silver appeared with a vial of crimson liquid. She handed it to Elias who took the substance with a thanks. He leaned toward the small mass under the covers. "Elijah, can you try to swallow this?" He held out his hand to present the small glass to his hurt child "it'll make you feel a lot better, i promise." Softly spoken.
Elijah parted his teeth, allowing elias to put the medication in his mouth. Silver nudged elias implying she'd take the dirty tube. Elias handed her the vial.
"once again thank you so much. you've been very helpful."
Silver nodded with a faint smile but still worried. She kissed his cheek bone and took the vial with ease and swiftly left the room without a disruption.
That night Eliase did not sleep a wink. In the morning he would try to contact Chise to explain everything.
