It's been three days since Mr. Black's passing, today is his funeral. Nothing but business partners, employees and office assistants. No family here to give condolences to.
The grave site is packed full of people but there isn't a single person here who was more than an acquaintance or business associate.

My best friend Adam has flown in from Oregon to be with me.
During the funeral many people speak on how great of a business partner and boss Mr. Black had been. They told stories of things that happened during many of his business trips. It made upset that nobody knew him for the wonderful human being he was.

"Ms. Banes, would you like to say a few words?" Mr. Collins' voice interrupts my thoughts just as great memories run through my mind. I slowly make my way to the small wooden podium that had been placed next to the coffin.

"Thank you all for being here. Mr. Gregory Black was a wonderful man, he was an amazing human being, always thinking of others and helping change people's lives.

As most of you know, Mr. Black was the recipient of the the Good Guy award a few years in a row. In his never ending quest to provide for children living in our inner city, he had the Downtown Public Library built. Local children now have somewhere to go after school if they need help with homework.

He had the old recreation center on Beech Street renovated and paid for all new equipment so the children have somewhere clean and safe to go during the summer. He bought the empty lot next door and had a pool put in. Paid for the extra employees that had to be hired and invited the community to participate in the reopening.

He provided free child care for all of his employees so that hard working parents could always be near their children. The local animal shelters and rescue organizations are set up with all they need in case  of an emergency. No animal shall have to die due to lack of resources.
