Fun fact: Daniel is 8 years older than me, so because of the "big" age gap I always imagine him as my older brother. This is the reason why the main character is his sister again 🙂 And my favourite foreign name is Kathleen, so I always use it in fanfiction. Should I rename the character or use only (Y/N). I was spending the last few days of the summer break in Monaco with my brother, Daniel Ricciardo. We're leaving tomorrow and travelling to Belgium for the race weekend.
I didn't have many things to do, my suitcase was almost packed, so I was sitting in my room and scrolling down on my instagram, when I got a message from my best friend, Lena.
Lena❤: I just found this video on YT. Seriously... am I the only one who thinks that he's breathtakingly sexy with his shirt on and off? 😍
I clicked the link which opened a YouTube video about my brother and his new collection with Orlebar Brown. I rolled my eyes, imagined her drooling in front of her phone, looking at my brother's video.
Me: wtf? That's my brother... should have known... addicted to him that much? 😏
It was already 10 A.M so, I decided to leave my room and walked down the stairs to reach the kitchen. My phone beeped. It was Lena on Whatsapp.
Lena❤: Very 😊 Are you in Monaco btw?
Before I replied, I started making a cappuccino for myself, searching for my mug in the kitchen shelf.
Me: yep, till tomorrow morning.
With my mug in my hand, I walked out of the kitchen when I spotted my brother on the balcony doing some push-ups and other exercises to prepare for the race.
'Hello big brother. Need any help?' I sat down on one of the chairs, that were stood next to the rails.
'Don't think so, I'm a big boy.' he flashed a wide smile towards me, changing his position to do sit ups.
I was sipping my drink and admired the view, enjoying the summer weather as long as I can because, as an Aussie, I don't like the cold and freezing weather. I always spend the winter and Christmas in sunny and warm Australia. My phone woke me up from my deep thoughts, I looked down at the screen, seeing that Lena wants something.
Lena❤: What is Daniel doing?
I think she's not just addicted to him, she's in love with him. Which isn't a bad thing, my brother deserves someone who loves him, not just because of his fame and looks. In my opinion they will be a great couple, but don't think that the fans of Daniel will approve of the age gap between them. Daniel is actually 8 years older than her.
Me: typical... don't care what is up with me.. 😅

I saw a lot of notification on Instagram, so clicked the app and started scrolling down, checking what was going on. Few people started following me, I guess they saw me with Dan in one of the previous races. I noticed a few likes from Max as well and a comment in a picture, where I'm posing in Austria after the race with Danny. I clicked on the photo to look at his comment.
maxverstappen1: Great picture but, where am I? 😔

After answering Max's comment, I put my phone down and looked down to the streets following the crowd of people with my eyes. My phone's screen lit up and I almost laughed when I saw Lena's message.
Lena❤: Could you please send me some pics about him while he is training? 😍🤤
I opened the camera app on my phone and snapped a few pictures of my shirtless brother, concentrating on his flexing muscles during the exercises, thinking about how she will like those kinds of pictures, and sent them to her. A couple minutes later, I realized I was totally wrong, thinking I sent the pictures to the right person.
Me: Here you are, pics for you only 😏

I clicked on the conversation with Lena and sent the pictures to her. I tried to calm myself down and tried not to think about how I embarrassed myself in front of Max.
Me: be happy. I accidentally sent it to Max 🙈
Another message appeared on the screen from Max. I sighed and tried to convince myself to read the message. I put my mug down on the table and used both of my hands to type.
Maxy😘: hahaha, no problem.

Me: Should I be scared? 😮
Maxy😘: It depends 😉😏

I was so into the conversation with Max that, I didn't even notice my brother standing behind me, reading the conversation between me and his teammate with a huge smile on his face.
'Hey! Didn't you hear that it's rude if you read someone's messages without permission?' I locked my phone and turned it upside down to hide the new messages from Max and Lena.
'I see your relationship with a certain dutch boy is quite naughty and cheeky.' he sent me a wink and patted my shoulder.
'I don't know what you're talking about.' I turned my head towards him, while he was sitting down on another chair.
'I want you to know that I'm totally fine with it, until he hurts you that is.' he smiled at me and closed his eyes, enjoying the light wind and the sunshine.
'Okay. But nothing's going on between us.' I lay my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.
'It will change, sooner or later. Believe me, I know how these kinds of relationships work.'
I always appreciated my relationship with my brother because he always stands by my side and supports me, no matter what happens. I'm happy that he's with me when I need him and I'm sure will be in the future as well.
