Taehyung's duet with the bird was abruptly interrupted by someones voice, a deep one at that causing the bird to fly away. "Can you teach me how to talk to birds too?"
Taehyung quickly stopped his whistling and turned around to look at the source of the voice.
"Ummmm" Taehyung looked up uneasily at the tall stranger, "Relax I'm kidding" the taller male said flashing a dimpled smile.
There at that moment Taehyung's hands began to sweat and his stomach became queasy and his body began to heat up. Causing him to be at a lost if words, this always happened whenever he talked to kids his age he never really shared the same interests as everyone else and always never knew what say.
"My name is Kim Namjoon" the taller male said extending his hand and showing that dimpled smile.
What made the whole situation worse for Taehyung was that this Namjoon character was in fact quite attractive. He had dark brown hair that covered his forehead along with piercing brown eyes that resembles those of cats.
Taehyung looked at Namjoon for a second and then reluctantly reached out his hand to shake Namjoon's.
"My name is Kim Taehyung, nice to meet you" Taehyung stayed timidly showing a small smile. "Nice to meet you Taehyung, your the new kid who just moved in the neighborhood huh?"
"Um Yea" said Taehyung in a confused tone "How exactly did you know I just moved here?"
"Oh yea sorry" said Namjoon scratching the back or his head. "I just saw the moving truck drive by and I've never seen you around so I just assumed" Namjoon explained, "don't worry I'm not a stalker" Namjoon chuckled.
Taehyung chuckled too a little. "Uh hey do you wanna maybe come over? My mom is cooking dinner and I can introduce you to my friend Yoongi." Said Namjoon hopefully.
"Uhh sorry I can't m-my mom wants me home before sunset..." Taehyung said looking down at his feet.
"Oh ok that's fine!" Namjoon said showing his dimpled smile "maybe next time then? Here! Give me your number and I'll give you mine so we can stay in touch." Namjoon said.
"Oh um sure" Taehyung said a bit surprised that someone would actually want to be his friend.
Taehyung and Namjoon both exchanged numbers and they both said the last of their goodbyes "I'll see you later Taehyung!"
"See you Namjoon" Taehyung said finally flashing his signature boxy smile and the two boys both finally parted ways as the sun began to set.
On the quiet walk home Taehyung couldn't help but smile at the warm feeling in his stomach and the thought that he actually made a new friend.
"Maybe this move won't be so bad after all." - - - - - - - - -
