as I finished my sentence the teacher enter and she asked us to scatter on the dance floor for the warm-up.
miss. Kim leads us in a warm-up and some exercise to practice our technic. as we finished one about some footwork she turns around and says:
"ok class because we have a new student and we have some time before the bell let's do a cypher"
I looked at Felix, who was standing by my right, and I said :
"a what".
"just follow the other, you'll see it's not that bad," he said with a smile.
the students made a circle and the teacher step inside of the circle. and said:
" ok, so you know the rules. one at a time you step in the circle and you have 30 sec to show what you got to the other. when I say "next" or I change the song, somebody else steps in. just to reassure everybody I'm not grading anybody. let's just have some fun. "
"Does this happen often in this class?" I asked the boys.
"kinda, last semester it was one of our evaluations. but not often" eric said.
"oh ok ok," I said nervously.
the teacher started playing some songs. she started with fools by Troye Sivan . a tall guy with blue highlights went in the circle and started dancing.
(the first dance)
"wow, let's go Chani," said a tall girl behind me.
"next," the teacher said. she changed the music to Instruction of Jax Jones. and a girl walked in. she was cute and a little taller than me.
she started dancing and I wasn't prepared for that she looked so cute and soft.
"Wow, she's really good," I said
"ok next," the teacher said. she changed to a song that I didn't know,
"let's go," said Felix as he enters the circle.
"Does he have bones?" I said out loud.
"not sure," said eric laughing
the cypher went on and most of the classes went and the teacher looked at me and said "ok new girl, your time"
she put move like jagger from maroon 5 and I went inside the circles.
I didn't know what to do but I just went with the music and I did some locking
"next," said the teacher. I went back with the boys
"I thought you said you didn't do hip hop," said Felix
