Revenge
Jeffery sighed as he paced the small confines of his cage. He was tired of being in here. Tired of feeling the constant pull on his mind. Tired of the confusing answers he always got that didn't explain the how or why of his current circumstance. He just wanted to be home, back in his own world. Benjamin, as he had come to know the name of the man who called himself his master, was not responsible for him being caged, but he often made matters worse by causing him constant headaches. He'd had so many of then now that he'd begun to think it strange to be without one. He sighed again and sat back down, thinking of the sun. There were only clouds here, and he was sure the cage was suspended somehow, so even if he did find a way to get out of it, he was sure he'd fall to his death.
"Well come on then," he heard a feminine voice beckon.
"Unless you want to stay in there, but I'm not telling him no. You can do that yourself." Jeffery blinked, unsure he could trust his ears. The only communication he had in all this time was through internal methods. First, it was Benjamin. Then an archangel who explained that nothing could be done to get him out at the moment.
There was a glowing female who didn't look much like any female he'd ever seen, who asked him a bunch of questions and then told him his light was misplaced. He shrugged, thinking of that response. She'd told him staying put was his best option...as if he had any clue what that meant. Jeffery blinked again, his eyes focusing on the woman who stood at the opening now. When she didn't move, and the voices in his head stayed quiet, he stood up and walked out of the cage.

Benjamin grunted, his arms shook, and the veins in his neck looked like they would pop out at any moment. He was glowing slightly and his grunts turned into a slow but climbing growl as he pulled on the light of all three charges. His difficulty came as he tried to keep his shield up and only tug at the boy's light. It was so tempting, and his to take. He panted and released the three of them, gasping with his palms on the almost invisible barrier. He was slightly orange in color now as he stood there mixing the light energy around within his being.
A crowd had gathered around Benjamin, and while many of them simply watched with growing amusement, some tried to attack when they thought him weak. Others ran through the barrier teasingly, offering more entertainment as they occasionally flew back when Benjamin actively tossed energy balls at it. He held so much blood energy inside of him now that every time he tossed a ball at the shield, it came out white and slightly misty. Benjamin heaved as he released another ball and inhaled deeply, plopping down onto a soft pillow someone brought over in gratitude for the entertainment.
Taking a cleansing breath, Benjamin gulped a few swallows of water from the sheepskin at his feet. He looked up at the sun and grunted; its intense heat seamed to pull at his energy as well. Sighing, he took a few more breaths and wiped the sweat from his brow then stood. With renewed determination, he approached the shield's edge and planted his feet in place. A group of four men stood eagerly to his far right with a look of anticipation as they watched the shield and waited for the opportunity to run at it. They smiled at each other and the crowd egged them on.
Benjamin cupped his hands adjacent to each other and created a small ball of light. It spun between them and he looked up at the shield. The men took up their running stances, but Benjamin did not toss it just yet. Closing his eyes, he included the light energies he'd come to feel throughout his lifetime, starting with the very first memory of his parents. He ran through every moment of his life he could remember—the good and the bad. There was so much bad, but he added it anyway.
