"Hi?" It sounded more like a question. " I'm Mark. " He said smiling. "I'm, um, Grace." I said. " Are you shy? " He asked. "No!" I say glaring at him. " Ok! " He said putting his hands up. "I was just asking!" " I'm guessing you're the new kid. " I said. "Yeah." He smiled. "Well I have to go now." I said and walked away.
All day, the new kid was all I could think about. He was the only one who would talk to me and not tease me. The more I thought about it, the more.I thought we could be friends.
After school, I met up with him. "Hey." He said, jogging over to me. " Hey um, so you want to be friends? " I asked, nervously. "Sure." He said. " So do you want to hang out tomorrow? " I asked. "Ok, where?" " Um, maybe my house? " "Cool." Then I walked home with a smile.
When I got home my mom was in the kitchen. She looked up and saw that I was happy. "Well someone must have had a good day today." " Mom! " I whine. "Did you make a friend? Was it the new kid?!" " Ugh, yes mom, I made friends with the new kid. His name is Mark. " "Oooh!" She yelled happily. Rolling my eyes I went up to my room and shoved my head in my pillow. Then I remembered homework existed and got up and went to my desk. I finished it quickly then I went down for dinner.
Later, I was still thinking about Mark when I went to bed. As I fell asleep, I thought about how Mark was coming over tomorrow and what we were going to do. Finally I just fell asleep.
