The Beginning

Josh was sure that their new lab was even more secured then, their previous lab. Last year their lab burned down after an experiment gone wrong. He made sure that no one knew about the new lab and its location. The lab might not have been as fancy as Nyx-Lab, but there was good tech that Josh, Megan, and Mike mostly built. They have been working on a project called “Project-Light Box”. The data that they have been receiving these pasts few months of their project was incredible. It was too good to be true.
Mike switched on the news, it seemed like the open day for Nyx-Lab was a success.
“How’s the algorithm looking Josh” Asked Mike.
Josh was looking at his computer screen for the past five minutes and the algorithm he used kept on failing to regenerate the particles. Megan was busy with the new design for a project that her dad asked her to work on. Megan was more intelligent than Josh, but he was more creative and confident when it came to the building. She liked to stick to the rules.
It was ten o’clock and Mike decided to call it a night. Megan pulled out her phoned and texted Josh.
“We still on for tonight”
Josh felt his phone vibrate and took it out of his pocket. He smiled at his phone. “Obviously we still on”
Josh made sure all their data was backed up and that there was nothing out of place in the lap, he activated the alarm. “Come on?” Megan asked.
“Yeah.” replied Josh.
“Yup.” Mike replied.
They created their own communicate com-links that were very small and undetectable. They would place it in their ears and talk to each other no matter how far the range.
The drive back home was boring and lonely seeing that all three of them had their own car. So, they use their coms to talk with each other while driving. Josh took the lead and the rest followed driving at the back of him.
“Guys don’t laugh, but I think saw a UFO last night. I know it sounds really weird but trusts me.” Said Megan.
“That is really something weird to bring up. ” Said Mike while laughing.
“It was probably just a new spaceship Nyx was working on.”, said Josh.
“Yeah, my mom told me about this cool new ride they building so it's probably that.” Replied Mike.
The finally reached town and was close to their neighborhood. Megan and Josh pulled up in Josh’s driveway. Mike drove passed.
“Nights you two lovebirds,” said Mike over the com. Josh knew his mom wasn’t going to be at home, she’s been working late these past few days, Josh opened the door.
“After you.”
“Such a gentleman,” said Megan and chuckled.
Megan went into the kitchen and pop microwave popcorn while Josh looked for a movie to watch.
“Our parents are probably still out celebrating,” Megan said.
“Probably you know my dad, but finally we have some alone time.” Megan looked at Josh and blushed.
“I didn’t mean that in a weird way,” said Josh.
“No, it didn’t sound weird” Megan replied.
Megan was laying with her legs over Josh’s legs and covered herself with the blanket that Josh got for them. She fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.
“Damn she must have been really tired, I don’t blame her we have been really busy today”. Josh couldn’t keep his eyes open either, he rested his head on the couch.
“Nina activate the alarm.” Said Josh. Their house that the most sophisticated alarm system that Josh helped build, all the outside doors and windows was locked.
