CHAPTER ONE
~One Year Later~
"Wahhhhh!" I jumped right out of bed as I heard my son's cries. Staggering, I went over to his crib.
"Hey there Amos" I cooed "mummy's here, shhh." I rocked him back and forth. Then I turned towards my daughter's crib. Yep, your heard me right. I had twins.
I picked her up in my other arm and walked back to my bed. I laid them both on top of my covers and laid down next to them. I couldn't believe what had gone on in the past year. I had been the best and worst year of my life. I gave birth to my babies only one day after Cedric's death. My water broke during his memorial service at Hogwarts in fact. Only three hours later I gave birth to my son. Just try and imagine my surprise when the doctor told me I had another baby on the way! I had never had a ultrasound. In the wizarding world they weren't necessary. A simple spell could tell you the gender of your baby, but me and Cedric wanted to be surprised. But I hadn't never had even thought I had been pregnant with twins the whole time and hadn't even known it!
So, five long minutes later I gave birth to my daughter. The hardest part was not having Cedric there with me. Allister was there, of course, but he wasn't the babies dad. None of my family came to visit. I was disowned when I told my parents I was pregnant at seventeen. I don't even really know why, seventeen was the legal adult age here.
But that's how I got Ebony and Amos.
I never graduated from Hogwarts. After Cedric's death I left and never looked back. Now I have started a shop in Diagon Alley named Odds and Ends. Speaking of witch I had to go open up.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Paulie!" I was so startled that I dropped the snow globe I had been putting on a shelf. Glass and water flew everywhere. I turned around to see best friend Allister.
"Bloody hell, sorry Paulie!" Then he whipped his wand out of his coat. One swish and the snow globe pieced itself back together and flew onto the shelf. The snow falling down over the little ice-skating penguins.
"So can I help today?" He asked, stamping the snow off of his boots on the rug by the door.
"Allister! I cant keep letting you work here! You should be with Stella!" Stella was his wife. They had gotten married right after graduating from Hogwarts. Beautiful wedding I might say myself.
"Stella is visiting her cousin...or her sister? Whatever, she's visiting one of her bazillions of relatives." he chuckled. I walked behind the counter in the shop, ducking when a charmed toy airplane zoomed over my head. Ebony and Amos were in their bouncy seats, giggling at the bells that dangled over their heads. They are so adorable!
"Hey how are my favorite godchildren!" cooed Allister as he jumped over the counter. He starting tickling their stomachs, making them laugh even more.
"Hey! If they barf your cleaning them!" I laughed. Allister always had a way with the babies. We were laughing our heads off when the bell above the door dinged. In walked three kids, snow covered and practically frost bitten. The walked to the side aisle. I hopped over the counter and walked over to greet them.
"Why are we in here again? I want to go to the three broomsticks!" I heard a whiny voice say.
"Oh shush Ronald!" snipped another voice "I've never seen this place before and I wanted to check it out! Also I'm still looking for a book about Dragon Apple Plants!"
I turned the corner and chuckled at who I saw.
"Harry Potter, never though you'd walk in my door."
