After getting the keys from his father, Scott went back to his childhood home to rest and eat so they could leave in the morning.
That didn't happen. His mom suckered him into staying for breakfast which turned into a girls shopping trip and Scott holding their purses and shopping bags.
But after that they were allowed to go home.
Once they finalized everything with their landlord when they got back, they told their friends (mostly his) who threw them a going away party and hired a moving company to help with the stuff.
When they finally arrived, the whole place was riddled with dust. There were bugs Malia almost peed herself when a lizard ran across her foot.
"At least it's not a rat this time." Scott said dryly. Malia cut him a look.
"I'm not letting my child stay in this. What if she ends up with some sinus or lung infection?" Malia asked.
"So we clean." Scott said simply.
"What do we do with Tyler in the meantime? Put her on the floor?" Scott took the baby from Malia and put her on the floor. Malia reached to pick her up.
"Malia, no. Leave her. She'll be fine." Scott assured. Tyler sneezed.
"If she gets sick, I'm blaming you. Let's get to work." Malia said. They took the cleaning supplies that kept in the trunk and did just that.
It was so much work. After dusting, mopping and sanitizing they then had to unpack their lives and organize rooms. With all this running around they missed something truly special.
"Scott?" Malia called quietly.
"Yeah?" Scott answered but he saw it for himself. Tyler standing on her two wobbly feet trying to walk to them.
"That's it baby. Come on. Come to mommy. Scott, get the video camera." Malia said. Scott was already doing it.
"Oh no. She fell." Scott said. Tyler got a little upset at first but got up again and this time walked over to her daddy to hug him. "Ohhh...She walked. For the first time in our new house. She's hugging me."
"But I gave you life!"
