Amy watched Sonic and waited for the perfect timing. Cream caught her in the hallway.
"What are you doing, Amy?" she asked in her high-pitched voice.
"I'm going to get Sonic to love me today."
Cream was unamused. "That's what you say every day, though."
Amy was in love with Sonic even though he liked to make out that he was not at all attracted to her. However, Amy knew better. Once she walked into the library to find a disaster had struck. Whole shelves were overturned and books lie scattered everywhere. She was part of the book club, so it was natural for her to visit the library very frequently. Then someone walked in on this horrible mess and saw her standing in the middle of all the books, terrified and heartbroken. The librarian and the whole school had no doubts that it was her who had done this. The whole school-- except Sonic. She overheard Sonic being confronted by Tails.
"What do you think about this whole thing with Amy?" he asked, laughing.
"Shadow told me that Amy didn't do it, and... I believe him."
When asked why, he wouldn't say. "I trust Shadow's telling the truth."
"You're way too quick to trust people," Tails told him.
"Do you smell chili dogs?" he asked. Tails shook his head.
"I do!" he dashed off.
Ever since then, Amy decided he did like her and had unmistakenly fallen in love.
Amy saw Sonic coming towards her and tried to tell him she liked him.
"Sonic, I li-" But he was on his phone and didn't see her. She was struggling too long to tell him she loved him, and he passed her. She turned and said "Wait up!" Sonic turned around and before she could say anything, he accidentally bumped into Shadow, who had been walking while reading a book.
Shadow looked up from his book. Sonic turned around slowly with a sweatdrop. "Oh, sorry," Shadow said flatly.
Sonic suddenly regained his composure and grinned. "Haven't you ever heard that you shouldn't walk and read, Shadow?" Sonic asked him playfully.
A vein appeared on Shadow's head, but he didn't retort. Sonic was too busy with him and completely disregarded her. Amy went white. "It really is impossible!" She said angrily. She ran away.
After school...
Amy came home and announced her presence. Rosy, who looked a lot like Amy but younger and wore an orange tutu, a white and green t-shirt, and blue high tops, was in the living room reading a magazine and drinking Chaos Cola. "Vanilla's going to be home late again today."
Amy felt defeated and collapsed on her bed. Cream was heading to the store before she came home. Amy had her on the phone. Cream laughed at her. "This is the normal routine, though! You chase Sonic around all day but, in the end, fail to make any headway!"
Amy pouts. "You don't have to rub it in."
"The only way you could have any chance of marrying Sonic would be if you were the main character of a romance novel."
Amy decided to take a soothing, warm bath to help her think about her plan of attack.
"Cream doesn't even have a boyfriend herself, but she still loves laughing at my expense." She dumped water over her head. "I have to agree, though. I haven't had any experience with other males and haven't even had that many conversations with them because of how shy I am. Until I met Sonic..."
Suddenly she felt herself burning up at the thought of her and Sonic getting married. She dunked her head in the water to try to forget it.
"Maybe being the main character of a romance novel is the only way for me to get with Sonic. But I don't know anything about writing. I need to find someone else to write it for me... but how do I do that?"
