You dont look like a grandpa

I smiled at my dad. He looked so happy and nervous to meet Diana.
I quickly turned to Becca who was holding Diana, and nodded. Reluctantly she let her go.
Once she did Diana shyly walked over.
Not one of Bella's "family" has heard her speak so they all watched her curiously. I don't blame them. Diana is so small she looks so fragile.
She walked up to my dad and looked at him shyly.
"Hi" she said, although it sounded like a whisper. He smiled.
"Hey there princess" he said while kneeling down to her level.
She giggled. She gave him a hug. Which seemed to shock him.
But nonetheless he returned it.
I could see that Bella's daughter Renesmee looked very jealous, as did Bella.
What got my attention was Diana's next comment.
It had us all laughing, well all MY family.
" You don't look like a grandpa" she told him. He laughed. She then turned very serious.
"Why are you laughing" she said.
That's when Damon stepped in.
"Pumpkin he's not laughing at you, what you said was just a bit funny"
"Oh" she said. "Well why is it funny"
Dad spoke this time.
"Sweetie, I'm an old man. If I didn't have grandkids right now I would be a bit worried. Believe me, I look like a grandpa" he said making everyone laugh.

......

After that awkward yet funny and adorable meeting Esme suggested we all have lunch. We all agreed. It was very......... Awkward.

Esme made chicken salad and sandwiches.
We were all eating quietly.
The Cullen's we're just picking at there food while Renesmee and jake ate.
Diana was talking quietly to Franco and hope. That's when hope nudged her and pointed to her cousin Renesmee.
Diana looked and nodded before speaking.
"Renesmee how old are you" she asked quietly. Everyone looked at her.
The Salvatore's and mikealsons plus Jeremy, Bonnie, and Tyler all smiled along with the Cullen's... Except Bella and Renesmee.
" I'm 8" was all she said not looking at her. Instead she was focusing on her very interesting salad.
Diana smiled.
"Oh, cool. I'm 7" she said trying to keep the conversation going.
"I know" was all Nessie said.
At that Diana got sad. Almost immediately hope and Franco tried to make her smile.
Stefan spoke up next.
"So what do you guys do around here"
He said.
Damon spoke up next.
"Yeah, I bet with all these woods around it makes for good hunting" he said with a smirk.
The Cullen's looked shocked.
I choked on my water from laughter but quickly recovered.
"Sorry, Damon and Stefan are a bit of hunting enthusiasts." I said.
"Really, so am I " my dad says.
"Hope your keeping that gun away from my granddaughter though" he said.
"Oh of course" Damon said.
"I would never want her near one, especially at such a young age" he said
"One time Diana was playing hide and seek with her cousins in our home, and Diana went into Damon's study.
It's a creepy room.
Animals everywhere.
I even get creeped out.
Anyway, she's never really went in there, I wouldn't let her. Well she went in to hide. I was in the kitchen.
She scrame so loud it sounded like bloody murder. She wouldn't look at Damon for a whole day" I said laughing at the story while both Damon and Diana grumbled.
" She made him apologize to each and everyone of those animals" I say laughing. Everyone else laughs.
"Oh I remember, she came over with franco the next day crying asking to check my study. I was so confused" Stefan said laughing at the memory.

After lunch we were all saying our goodbyes for the night.
Klaus rented out a home nearby for us to stay for Christmas. Though I think he wants to buy it.
Esme invited us over for breakfast tomorrow much to Bella's dismay.

"Bye dad, see you tomorrow" I say giving him a hug.
He hugs me back.
"I've missed you kid. See you tomorrow" he says before going and giving Damon one of those wierd guy hugs. And then bending down to give Diana a hug.
"See you tomorrow, munchkin. Take care of your mommy, ok" he says.
"Ok Gramps" she says. He laughs a little at the name.

Soon we're all in our temporary home.
Bonnie just finished putting protection spells and sage around the house while Caroline, Hayley, Rebecca and I put the kids to bed. Diana kept insisting that her aunty bex had to tell her a story, so she did.
Now all the adults are in the living room with a glass of alcohol, mostly bourbon, a beer for Jeremy, wine for Rebecca, Hayley and Bonnie.
"What are we going to do with the fairies" Damon says.
We all look around. Bella is a fairy..
What to do, what to do.

"Well they have not posed a threat to us, let us just let this play out and see how it goes. If time comes where we have to do something we will figure it out. Until then, let us not worry too much" Elijah says. We all soon after and go to sleep..
