She felt cold.

Ava continued to feel extremely cold despite the factors she opted to reduce the chilliness that seemed to seep through her bones now.

It felt extra chilly that day- though the promise that she held in her heart was warm enough to make some flowers grow here and there in her mind as she smiled in the darkness of her bedroom.

Suddenly the beep of her phone startled her from her thoughts. Groaning inside she decided to make a mental note to herself about changing her phone's message ring later before her hand moved over her black polka dotted bed sheets in search for her phone which was the only thing that kept her alive during those boring hours in Happy dumplings when she has no customers.

Not to be petty but about the black polka dotted sheets that she owned, she bought them last week with her mum-juhi, and despite juhi's giggles at the print Ava had stated firmly:
"I like my bed sheets as I like my heart- black."

But honestly, Even she didn't know she owned a gold heart inside. Guess someone else would have to tell that to her.

Upset.
That's what she felt when she unlocked her phone and found out that indeed her waiting has gone to waste.
He was not coming. He broke his promise. He cancelled their plan after making her wait for hours just to attend a party that took place across the street. Was it worth leaving Ava's handmade cookies and one of their special movie nights? Not at all.

But with a pout on her soft features she decides: "Maybe that party is actually really lit and maybe he just misses his friends." Thinking about that, she clutches her comforter closer to her chest before turning over and snuggling more into her pillow. Her eyes drooped close after some particular counting of sheeps but just as sleep was about to sweep her off her feet and fly her to neverland, her hypnagogic state heard three knocks from right beside her.

Her eyes snapped open again, taking a wide view of her room to see where it came from but after seeing no source she blamed it on her sleepy self and shut her eyes again. BUTTT just as her eyes met, they were opened again cause she heard the same knocks.
This time she was sure she heard them.

It sounded like someone was knocking on glass.
Thinking to herself that maybe Ethan was just playing around with her and came back from the party to her. He probably knocked on the window or summat to come in- she leaped off the bed in just her large oversized white shirt and yellow tweety printed boy shorts, ran over to her window and peeked outside excitedly to find no one.

This time- she felt "not so happy" infact BLOODY SCARED, as she heard the knocks come again.

Oh and she found out that they were indeed not coming from her window instead they came from the large vanity mirror beside her bed.
