As lazy as a slug,
That's what Ava felt when her mother told her to put the cardboard boxes in their specific new rooms.
Shifting was something she wasn't excited for, so with a blank look on her face, she swung her legs over the still plastic covered couch and stretched her arms to reach the heavy boxes before her. While balancing almost 5 boxes on her little body, she took a step towards the wooden door that lead her to the lounge or dining? She yet has to learn the location of the rooms. But just as she took a step forward, her little furball decided to snuggle against her ankle causing her to loose the balance that she was bad at maintaining. "Oh no pooh bear!"she squealed as the boxes slipped landing just beside her butt on the soft carpet. The happy pup who obviously had no idea of what he did was bad, climbed into Ava's lap, wagging his tail and nudging her hand with his soft head in hopes for her to pet him.
A soft smile tugged at her lips before she raised her hand just a bit to scratch behind her pup's ears. "Ava?? Stop playing around and help me with this crockery would y-...you haven't even put the boxes Ava!"her mother scolded her as she entered the room seeing her daughter sprawled out on the carpet with the lil pup on her lap.
Quietly after situating pooh bear on the couch in between the soft pillows, she began stacking the boxes again to carry them. "M sorry mum."she passed juhi-her mother, an apologetic smiled before wondering off to the kitchen. "Daring look what I found..a hammer on the back and these different sized screw drivers on the front....it's.......lit!"rishi- Ava's father called out as he entered the lounge where juhi stood, dusting off the wooden tables. "Dad please stop using Twitter language....it sounds.....quite odd coming from..uhh our parents yeah?" Ava tried explaining without hurting her dad as she passed the room to enter her bedroom with boxes fewer than before still stacked in her arms.
Juhi shook her head slowly with a small smile on her face as she still kept rubbing the tables with the old cloth, while rishi held his hand over his heart, faking his hurt with his mouth hung open in shock.

"Bitch, You still have to give me a FaceTime tour of your house...."Rose babbled on as she stuffed her mouth with red strawberries, staring at Ava who was still busy setting her closet with things she doesn't even remember buying. "Uh huh.."She agreed half mindedly as she rushed to the stack of clothes to put them in the closet too. "How many oversized sweaters do you own grandpa?"rose snickered as Ava turned her face towards the phone to throw her the "Are you serious?" Look, cause what she said was stupid.
Cool winter breeze filled her room and Ava made a mental note to close the large windows right after finishing her work. Suddenly her hand grazed over the familiar fuzzy pink material and she gasped, eyes filling with excitement as she hurried to the phone where rose stood with a "bro you stupid?" Look on her face. Shoving the pink little sweater in the phone's screen she squealed with happiness upon founding the old yet very close to heart material. "Does this ring any bells?"she asked, eyes full and bright with hopes that rose still remembers and even still owns it in remembrance of their friendship.
"No wayyyy...how do you still have it?"her friend smiled brightly through the phone as Ava lowered the sweater to reveal her happy face in the camera. "I...dunno honestly....it was just....in that stack of clothes."she stuttered still grazing the soft material with her fingers. "Oh how time flies... it seems like just yesterday we were sat in your granny's house with different tools in our hands ,making little sweaters for each other as she guided us...our 8 year old asses didn't even know a thing about knitting though."a sweet laugh was heard through the phone which was owned by her childhood friend-rose. "She was a great lady Ava."rose's voice softly murmured as she noticed Ava hang her head low, she was upset.
Ava was really close to her granny since the start, they both had been inseparable until her death arrived, knocking on her granny's door, inviting her to the pit of darkness and loneliness. She had to leave but it caused massive heartbreak to Ava. Time passed by, Ava's family and friends noticed the change and they were beyond happy to see Ava accept the fact that her granny was in a better place and everyone has to leave one day. "Indeed she was."Ava agreed, her voice barely just above a whisper. "May she rest in peace."
"May her soul rest in peace.".•.
"-wait...WHYY?? I'm cooking pasta and chicken cheese rolls!!......Dad? You love when I make you pasta don't you? 'Sides you guys helped me so much all day long, you must be starvi-."Ava's whines were cut short as Juhi interrupted: "darling, you know we'd love to sit and eat with you......just like ol' times, but you KNOW Mr.Henderson, he won't let us go on this one. However a dinner is promised with you, maybe later this month?"pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead, she unlocked the car and settled in the passenger's seat. "My baby, I'm so sorry."rishi cooed before pulling her in a fatherly hug that made her feel somehow much better, she'd always been close to her dad after all.
"Hey!! Wipe that pout cause I've gotten you four packs of that hazelnut chocolates you like, don't tell your mother tho!"He whispered sneakily in her ear before pulling away and dramatically wiping a tear from below his eyelid wanting to make it seem like he'd just been emotional, leaving his daughter- so that Juhi won't suspect the chocolates and scold them both to bed as the strict dentist she is, honestly it isn't about her being a dentist anymore, any mother would start worrying if her husband and daughter ate a full box of chocolates in a day.
With a soft smile, Ava raised her head to look at him. "You did?"she mumbled, receiving a quick nod and wave from her dad before he was jogging off to the drivers side. "Alright, bubye chippie!"rishi called out before reversing the car in garage and taking up for the road. The sweet nickname rolled off his tongue, the ol' sweet nickname he had given to her back when she was just a chocolate chip obsessed, 6 year old.- the thought made him smile as he clutched the steering wheel with one hand while holding his wife's hand gently in his other over the console of the car. Ava watched with a distant look in her eyes, as the cars passed by her little newly bought apartment, leaving her all alone with the light winter breeze blowing her chestnut beachy curls.
And after a sigh or two, she turned on her heel and headed inside.
Couldn't even deny the deep feeling she had in her heart of loneliness. Wanted her parents to stay a bit longer in this foreign place where she had just shifted.
"Guess its just us now!" She mumbled sadly before bending down and scratching between pooh bear's ears softly earning a happy bark from the pup.
