Chapter 1

Shad's POV

My eyes turn red at the sight of their Queen, Queen Oxide Marie Shine. The current queen of the Shine Kingdom, and a gruesome one at that. Not only does she torture her slaves relentlessly, she kills innocents for fun and power. The Kingdom of Shine is the only other kingdom with a curse instead of ours. And she thinks we were the frauds. She thought we were just her stepping stones to become the most powerful being alive. She has committed countless crimes against the laws of the council. Yet she had none of that! She played victim! Even when everyone knew she was the mastermind of her husbands death! She killed her own husband to take the reigns of the Kingdom of Shine. My dad was having none of that. "QUEEN OXIDE. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE NO WHERE WELCOME IN MY KINGDOM" She smirked and said calmly. "Dear Shadow...I'm not here to fight...I'm typically just helping your kingdom with a little present here. My daughter" she paused for a moment, looking to me. "My daughter is the perfect candidate to marry your son I'd e-." "NO! Your vile daughter has nothing to do with my son and he wants nothing to do with your daughter!" He got one thing wrong... I do want her. That means..She's right. The vile queen of The Kingdom of Shine is right. She is perfect. She seems calm and collected. Something my curse needs. And something else...she sparks something in my that I don't understand...I get the feeling that she....is my Moon given mate, which is impossible since wolves or any creature with the blood of royalty are supposed to choose their own mates,Not being unwilling tied up with another wolf or hybrid or another species. I was snapped out pf my train of thought by my father. "SHAD! Tell this woman that you don't want anything to do with her daughter." I looked to my dad and then to her. She seemed worried but in constant control. I want to know whats running through that pretty mind of hers. So, I made a decision, I'll risk it. Just for her. "Father." He looked at me with confusion laced with relentless anger.

"WHAT!" The ground shook. Then, as if by luck, my mother, The Holy Queen, stepped in the room. "Shadow, calm down. Give the girl a chance. Give your son, A chance." She looked sternly into my fathers eyes and his own eyes soften... "fine. Thirty minutes" I nodded to my father and I walked over to the beautiful maiden. "Follow me. I want to go somewhere..private" I gave her mother a cold glare which was matched by her cold smile. "Of course Prince Shad, by your command" she said with such elegance. I lead her to my own built study, constructed to make my mind sharp and muscles strong. She looked around with her curiosity filled eyes, those same gorgeous golden-brown eyes that eventually landed to me. "Did you...make this?" She said uncertainty clear in her voice. I kept a neutral face and solemnly said. "Yes, my father wanted me to be as smart and as strong as him. And so, he decided to make me make my own rooms..which was honestly a pain in the back" she nodded slowly as if trying to understand. "Oh! I'm Princess Irene Rie Shine...I'm sorry for not introducing myself further..." I cut her off with my hand and nodded to her, which she nods back. "So...what do you do in this particular study?" She seemed intrigued. It was cute to be honest. "Well, I study maps and what should happen if something goes wrong or a war starts. It's so I and the Kingdom can prepare" she nods understandingly. "My mother would never let me do anything like this...she only raised me to be a ruthless killing machine...I never wanted to become what my mother raised me to be." She smiles warmly touching the bookcases. I could tell she wasn't lying. Her heart is calm, her breath isn't ragged and she isn't sweating. "Good, your mother is a horrible person." She cuts me off. "But...she's the only mom I got...I wouldn't want to lose her for the world..." was she serious? She didn't want to rip her to shreds. "I know...your asking why I don't hate her for all the thing she's done but...my father didn't give up on her and I wont give up either" I was speechless with her speech...she had so much passion for what she believed in...damn it... I'm falling . "Have you read any of these books before?" I asked changing the subject. She looks at me warmly. "About roughly...all of them" I shook my head in amusement. "Are you mocking me?" I asked playfully. She laughs half-heartedly. "Maybe..." she said shrugging. "Hey...you seem like a great lady...-" she cuts me off before I could finish. "I want to be with you. Its a plan of me and mother...I grew fond of seeing you falling in love with me..you see...I have the curse of Jealousy...I'll always get what I want." She said curtly. I looked her in shock. Curse of Jealousy...thats a hard curse to control, how does she cope with everything around her? "I've been training my control since I was an infant, if your asking why I have such control over my curse" she mumbles sensing my shook gaze. I nodded to her. "So..." I trailed off..gaining her attention. "Mates?" She smiled. "Only if I could say no to something I want" I stifled a smile. I'm happy...
