He held the paper in his hands for some minutes until I heard him sobbing and saw him wiping his face. My heart stopped beating and I hugged him from behind. He turned around and hugged me back.

"Shh. Don't cry, baby" I whispered and stroked his back gently. I pressed a kiss on his wet, salty cheek.

I slowly let go of him but he didn't. He still had his arms wrapped around me tightly. He let go minutes after.

"Baby, look at me" I put my hand under his chin and lifted it so he looked at me. His eyes and nose were red. He took a deep breath.

I gently brushed his cheek with my hand and wiped his tears away.

"I love you so fucking much" He whispered and took another deep breath.

"I know, baby. I love you more"

"That is not possible" He shook his head.

"What did I do to deserve you?" He said and looked at me with his sparkly eyes.

"I don't know" I shrugged with my shoulders.

He took a closer look at the portrait and at the letter.

"This, is by far the best present I ever recieved" He said, sobbing.

"Did you think that I forgot your birthday?" I asked. He nodded as a response.

"I could never." I smiled at him.

He started crying again. I took him into another hug. I didn't to let him go this time.

"I love you. Remember that. Always and forever." I whispered and he nodded.

We spent the whole day listening to vinyl and celebrating his birthday with his family. Jack showed his parents the presents I got him. They were amazed by my presents, especially by the painting.

All four of us sat together at the dinning table and had a little dinner. Jack's mother cooked for us.

"John, you are so lucky to have found a girl like Alida" His mother said. Jack blushed when she said his real name and looked at me with a grin on his face.

"I surely am. I have the best girlfriend in the world." He kissed my cheek.

"When will be the wedding?" His father joked.

"Soon" Jack answered. I looked at him with wide eyes. He winked at me.

"Son, we have a surprise for you" His father said and looked at us with a smile. I knew what he was doing. My and Jack's parents had planned something for Jack. Something big and amazing.

"What kind of surprise?" Jack asked and furrowed his eyebrows.

"We have to go outside for that." His mother said and gestured towards the door. Jack's dad had a big smile on his face. 

"Okay?" Jack looked at me confused. I tried to stay calm, so that Jack won't find out anything yet. 

"C'mon, let's go" His father stood up and we all repeated. We walked towards the door and stepped outside one by one. Jack took my hand into his.

"Do you know what's happening here?" He whispered into my ear as we waited for his parents to lock the door. 

"No, I have no idea" I whispered back and looked at his mother, who was smiling at me sweetly. I immediately knew from whom Jack got these dimples and warming smile. 

"Let's go kids" His father said and lead the way. We walked together across the street and there was his big surprise, all covered up in a huge blanket. Me and his parents pulled off the blanket and a beautiful black Mercedes was exposed to Jack. Jack's eyes widened.
