Lies Part 3

The party was something I've never seen before.People were drinking,smoking,and kissing.I noticed Jay standing in the corner trying to avoid just about everything and everyone.I walked towards him and waved."Hi I"m JJ,my friend DeMarcus talked to you earlier when we were outside""Yeah I remember him."We continued talking until the party was over,before we left I managed to get Jay's number.We texted all into the night until I passed out.When I woke up it was time to head back to San Francisco.We had to head back earlier than expected because of orientation.When we reached my house,my brothers,sisters,and parents were waiting for me on the porch.I got out of the car,waved goodbye,and went inside.They immediately started asking questions, I answered as many as I could.At some point I got tired and went to my room to sleep.I woke up to a ding,it was Jay asking if I wanted to meet him at a coffee place.I texted him back asking how that would work,he said "I just finished moving to San Francisco."My heart jumped with glee.But there was an issue,my parents,I would have to tell them the truth.

I fell back asleep,then I woke up again,but this time with a purpose in mind.I got dressed and headed downstairs to have the most important talk I've ever had in my life."Mom,Dad I have something pretty serious to tell you.""What is it son?"My dad asked."It's about my love life,my personal life,and everything else"Both my mom and dad looked at me wondering what this is all about."Im into guys,do you have any thoughts."They both looked at me with this look that I've never been given before. "Did you know?"As I said nervously laughing.They looked at each other,then at me."Yes we knew"They said at the same time.My mom decided to say something "We've known for awhile,we were just waiting for when you were ready to tell us.""When did you know?"I asked.My mom went on about how she knew,basically it was all her "mother's intuition".When really DeMarcus told them that was the reason we are going to LA.

After the talk,I explained that I have to meet Jay at a coffee shop.My parents drove me and told me to be back by 7:00.I got to the coffee shop and saw Jay waiting for me in a booth."I ordered some coffee if u don't mind?"He said."No,it's okay and it's actually kind of sweet."We sat down and sipped on our coffees we talked about family,relationships past and present,and how school starts in a couple weeks.I turned to Jay and said "I have to be back by 7:00."He offered to walk me home,I accepted.We got back to my house and Jay tapped on my shoulder,I turned around to face him."I know we just met but I'm beginning to really like you so would you like to, you know,go on another date?"He asked me nervously.I didn't know what to say so I said

"Sure,I would love too."He waved goodbye.I ran inside,up to my room,and screamed into my pillow.

In the weeks leading up to school my family was getting their lives together.My dad was going to weekly AA meetings,my mom was going to rehab,and my siblings were less of a hellish nightmare then usual.The mornings aren't so hectic,neither were the afternoons everything seemed to be alright.Jay,DeMarcus,and I went school supply shopping,then we went to the movies.

When school started I felt pretty okay.The family was okay,I was on the verge of having my very first boyfriend,and DeMarcus was still DeMarcus,but still on his girlfriend finding mission.I finally felt,for the first time,my life wasn't falling apart at the seems.That was until Jessica moved back to town.

Jessica was how I knew I was gay.She was my first girlfriend,when we shared our first kiss that was when it happened.The first person I told was Demarcus.He gave me some great advice on how to tell her.When I went to tell her,she confessed that she was in love with me,and that maybe I was confused.I told her everything that I have felt over the past few days.She cried,hit me,and ran home.When I went to school the next day,she wasn't there.The teacher announced that she had moved to Florida.Ever since then she has hated my guts,and little did I know that Jay knew here too.
