The defenders of harmony

Chapter 2

It was a night fury. The beast turned around and growled, slowly making it's way to her while showing it's sharpened teeth. Ann backed up, starting to tremble. She reached her hand out, remembering all she heard about night furies from old tales. She turned her head while looking away.

The night fury simply glanced at her hand and snarled. It took a large jump right at her and tried to snap at it. Ann pulled away in time, taking more steps back. The beast lowered down, preparing to leap a second time. Right as it was going to attack, Thunder let out a powerful roar from the distance.

He swooshed in front of Ann and spread out his wings to make himself look more intimidating. He let out another roar at the night fury, looking back at Ann. The night fury grunted, deciding killing Ann was too much trouble and flew away in a simple flap of its wings.

Ann sat down while shaking from head to foot. Her entire body shook in fear. She pinched her self to make sure she wasn't dreaming and looked up at Thunder, a smile escaping her lips. "You saved me... Again."

She got up and attempted to wrap her arms around his huge body. "I can't thank you enough..."

Ann walked home tired from the attack. "Wow," she breathed,"I can't believe I was that close to a night fury". She approached the house with Thunder at her side. The light of day revealed itself at the corner of the world. Tick Tock was pacing around, looking up at Ann when she passed by. Ann walked into the small cabin and saw Crystal still sound asleep. "Wake up Crystal you lazy butt!"she yelled. "I'm up I'm up," Crystal replied.

"Don't have to be loud..."she snorted. Ann rolled her eyes."You will never believe what just happened!" Ann squealed.

Crystal looked at her with a straight boring face. "What is it this time?"

"I got attacked by a dragon!"Ann yipped.

She grabbed Crystals shoulders and jumped up and down. Crystal pried Ann's arms off her shoulders and gave her "the" look. "And that's good how?"

Ann let out a faint squeak. "It was a night fury!" Crystals jaw dropped. "H-how? I didn't think there we any left around here!"

Ann chuckled. "Come on let's go see if it's still here!"

She pulled Crystal outside and motioned for Tick Tock to come over . The zipple back lifted its two scaly green heads and made it's way to Crystal. Thunder spread his massive four wings and Ann jumped onto his back. "Let's go!"

Ann shouted. Both their dragons lifted their huge bodies and launched themselves into the air.
