Picture of Eric -------------------->

I raised an eyebrow as he shook his head, talking, "I'm just surprised that you're enjoying your food. Most girls that I go out with would only pretend to like burgers and fries."

I tilted my head curiously. Was he serious? Hmm, he must go for the classy girls. "Well, you're in for a rude awakening because I absolutely love my burgers and fries," I smirked.

A smile tugged up at the corners of his lips, pleased with my answer and began eating. I reached over for the ketchup, squeezing some on my burger and then on the side for my fries. I took a bite out of my burger and closed my eyes, savoring the taste. Delicious. Did I mention how freakin' good these burgers are?

I opened an eye to catch Eric once again staring at me. I put a hand over my mouth as I swallowed before asking, "What's up?"

He smirked, "What can I say? You're cute when you eat." I blushed, suppressing a smile that I didn't want him to see. "You're even cuter when you blush." I had to smile at him that time. Just then, I felt my phone vibrate. I looked down to read the text.

From: ALI<3 - Where are you??

- At the diner, what's up?

From: ALI<3 - On my way to see you :)

- NO, on a date! Please don't embarrass me :(

From: ALI<3 - Even better! Be there soon!

"Who are you texting?" He asked, leaning in closer across the table. Oops. I bit my lip nervously, if Alison gets here she's gonna embarrass the heck out of me - for sure! "My cousin," I smiled apologetically. "Sorry about that, she was just wondering where I was."

I took a sip of my drink; it was only a matter of minutes before Alison would burst in. He frowned, "Okay.." Why was he frowning? My lips slowly reflected his frown. "What's wrong?" I reached over to place my hand on his forearm.

"I was going to ask you something, but now I'm not quite sure if I should," he said somewhat hesitantly. "Ask me. I'm all ears," I smiled cheekily, hoping he would smile too. He did. "Alright," he said, taking my hand and slowly entwining our fingers. I looked down at our hands together and I really liked the way we fit together. "Can I kiss you, Sophia?"

I licked my bottom lip and I saw his gaze drop to my lips. What's there to lose, right? I smiled shyly, "Yes." Slowly, we both leaned in and he softly pressed his lips against mine. His lips were really soft and he tasted sweet. The kiss wasn't rough or super passionate but it was just...

CLICK!

What? I gently pulled away to see my one and only cousin, Alison, camera in hand with a big stupid grin on her face. Why? I face-palmed both cheeks, trying to hide the crimson red blush I knew was making an appearance.

                                                                          Eric

I froze, my eyes darting back in forth between Sophia and the petite blonde with a camera in her hands. I chuckled nervously. God, I hated blushing, especially in front of girls because they thought it was "so cute". I mentally shuddered; no. Not cute at all. I bit back a smile as Sophia face-palmed herself, she must know this girl.

"That was so cute! Aww, Soph got her first kiss! I'm telling Alice! It's definitely going in the photo album," she gushed all at one time, waving the camera. She smirked, "I will leave you two be now." And with that, she had walked out of the diner as if she hadn't even come to take our picture.

I could see a smile tugging on the corner of her lips, the lips that I just kissed. It felt so right to kiss her, it was just perfect. Damn, I'm starting to sound all mushy and talking to myself. "I'm sorry about my cousin," she apologized, embarrassed. "I had no idea she would do that of all things," she continued.

I reached over the table to take her hand in mine and said, "It's fine," I chuckled. "It seemed like nothing could stop her from doing what she wanted anyways." "That's Alison for ya," she agreed.

I leaned down to brush my lips over her knuckles, "Are you done eating?" Her eyes twinkled a bit when she was flustered; Sophia's blush said it all. She nodded and I let her get up before me as I reached into my wallet to toss some bills - enough to cover both the bill and tip. I got up to see her phone flashing that she had a text; before she read the text I had a glimpse of the message.

From: ALI<3 - Did I surprise you? ;)

All I could think was, "Hell yeah, you did."
