Brandon's P.O.V. -
I took a look at my phone to see if there were any missed calls or texts, none. The time on my phone said 11:30, where could she be? I sat on the couch, not paying attention to the game that was playing on the flat screen.
Soph told me she was going to Alison's house, usually if she stayed over she would have texted or called me. I'm not trying to be the over-protective brother, but things like this concern me. She's the youngest of the three of us and I can't help it when I worry. Even when she doesn't worry, I know it's my job to bother the shit out of her and make her boyfriends scared of me.
Dad's not here to do it, so I have to be the one to bring out my gun when I have a little chat with the kid. Just kidding, who the hell actually does that? I just threaten the hell out of them and most of the time, I do beat the crap out of them. I rubbed my chin thoughtfully, maybe she went out with a boy.
I snapped my fingers. Now I have a chance to threaten another kid. Boy, did he not know what was coming. I really hated it when Soph cried and she happened to do that a lot. I snorted, she has a really bad taste in guys - she always gets the douchebags.
I heard the lock click and I knew it was Soph coming in by the way she jingled her keys. Mel always has trouble opening the top lock and kicks the door for help. I'm not a creep, I'm just observative. Time to act like I'm occupied. "Hey, loser." I called out with a smirk, keeping my eyes on the game.
"Hey, creep." I could tell she was smirking also, that's my sister for you.
I had to do this casually, because I didn't need her to think that I was "being nosy." I shook my head, little sisters are so annoying.
"So, you have fun at Ali's?" I asked nonchalantly, getting up for a bowl of cereal. I needed to see her reactions when I asked about what she did tonight.
When I walked in, I already saw her digging in the fridge. "Uh.. Yeah, until she got drunk."
I raised my eyebrows, suspiciously asking, "Does that mean that you drank?"
Soph scoffed and she was probably rolling her eyes behind the fridge door, "Of course not. You'd lock me in my room if I did."
I smiled because that's exactly what I would do for punishment. "You know it." I scratched my brow, I guess it's question time. I grabbed a bowl out of a nearby cabinet, "Hand me the milk," I demanded.
Soph threw the carton of milk at me, hoping I wouldn't catch it. Too bad my reflexes are so sharp. I easily caught it and added the milk to my bowl full of Lucky Charms cereal with extra marshmellows.
"So, uh, did you do anything else yesterday?" I shoved a spoonful of cereal into my mouth to keep myself from blabbing like an idiot. I analyzed her face to see if there was any change.
A smile tugged up the corner of her lips, "I went on a date."
I knew it! Over-protective brother mode is on. "What's his name?"
She pursed her lips, seeming reluctant to tell me, "Eric Knight."
"When can I meet him?"
"Brandon!"
"What?" I smiled innocently, she had no clue that I always had a small chat with her boyfriends.
She shook her head vehemently, "Brandon, I know what you're doing."
Oh shit, she knows? Soph smirked, "You're trying to have him for yourself, aren't you? I'm pretty sure he likes girls."
I internally sighed in relief.. She had me worried there. I laughed awkwardly at her joke, "Shut up." I swatted her arm. "You know I love the ladies," I wiggled my brows for emphasis.
