New Moon

Chapter 3

Shin family gathered at their living room after dinner. Mr. Shin is doing his work at his working table,Mrs. Shin is sewing a dress. Yeoreum and Youngjae are watching cartoon. YoungAe is reading her favorite book about vampire. YoungAe always liked reading books so we can call her a bookworm.

Blood Moon will occur once a year on 13th September

"It's next week"

"The vampires usually will stay at home to prevent from being spotted by human. Usually they will be killed if they were seen nearby humans' towns. Due to their small population,they have to hide to survive and stay alive"

As YoungAe read those lines,her heart ached.

"Why would the humans do that? They need to eat too"

Mr. Shin heard what his daughter said,smiled.

"It's true but the humans were afraid that those vampires become more violent if they let it happen"

"We live in a cruel world and I don't blame them but dad,is there any of our ancestors met any vampires before?"

YoungAe asked out of curiosity.

"Yes,there is one person in our family who met a vampire before. It's your late great grandma"

"So,what happen between them?"

"From what I heard from your grandma,they loved each other until her father know he was a vampire and kicked him out of the town"

"That's so cruel"

"I know but that's what they do"

YoungAe nodded in silence. She still think that vampires should be treated equally as human. They are technically a human but they have a different type of meals.

"I will go to bed now,goodnight!"

YoungAe walk through the hallway holding her vampire books tight,afraid that people will make fun of her if they find out that she is a "weirdo" for liking this mysterious things. Luck is not on her side when she fall flat on her butt. Her books scattered everywhere.

"Ouch.."

She wince in pain,trying to get up. No matter how many times she tried,she cannot get up.

"Out of all days,why now?"

YoungAe asked herself.

"Oh shit,my books!"

She panicked and look around to find her books when suddenly a guy offered to help her.

"You need help?"

"No thanks! I'm fine!"

"Are you sure? Seems like you sprained your ankle tho?"

"I did?"

She asked.

"You silly,let me help you. Guys,pick her books up"

He said as he help YoungAe to stand up properly.

"If you want,I can give you a piggy ride to the infirmary"

YoungAe's cheeks heated up. She never been close to any boys before,let alone being offered to get a piggy ride.

"No no no! It's fine,really"

""Then I will walk you to the infirmary"

"Some of weird stuffs you have here. Vampires? Why are you reading this?"

One of the guy butt in. YoungAe know they will laugh or even make fun of her so she keep her head down.

"We live in 21st century,everyone can do whatever they want,okay?"
