Keith walked off the ship into a massive field where Lance stood, awaiting Keith's annual visit.
"Hey Keith, merry Christmas eve, eve. " Lance welcomed warmly.
"It's the day before Christmas Eve... " Keith said with a confused look.
"It's Christmas Eve Eve" Lance repeated.
"Ok. Well I brought you something. " Keith said smiling.
He held a neatly wrapped box in his hands.
"It's for you to open on Christmas Day.. " Keith said handing him the box.
"Oh, I should probably tell you, it's just gonna be all of the paladins. Well... Most of the paladins.. " Lance said with a hurt undertone.
"Hey, we all miss her buddy.. " Keith lied through his teeth.
"I'm sure she's happier up there than down here anyway.. " Lance said trying to laugh it off.
"Has anyone else arrived yet? " Lance asked.
"You and hunk.. " Lance said guiding Keith inside.
The two walked through the big field. Keith noticed how Lance's mark on his arm had faded. That symbolized that Lance was broken hearted.
Keith's own mark was blue. The exact blue of Lance's old space suit.
"Lance.. " Keith said halting.
"What is it? " Lance asked.
"You're mark, it's grey.. " Keith pointed out.
"Oh, is it really? " Lance asked.
"Yeah.. Are you ok? Do you need to talk about it?" Keith asked.
"I'd rather not dwell on it.. It's happened and it's over.. " Lance retorted.
Keith pulled Lance into a hug.
"You need to understand that it is not your fault she died.. " Keith said holding Lance as he sobbed.
"I'll stay a few more days than usual ok? " Keith asked.
Lance just cried.
"I loved her so much Keith.. I loved her with my whole heart. And she's gone.. " Lance continued.
"Hey, it's alright. Because now she is able to see her mother and father.. She is able to see everyone she missed dearly.. " Keith said trying to lighten Lance's view on Allura's death.
"Thank you Keith, I needed that.. " Lance said wiping his eyes.
"What are friends for? " Keith asked.
