It was a pretty special day, your graduation day. You were graduating at the top of your class. Today was the day your best friend, Hailey, would also get to see her father in a while.
There was a slim chance that he'd actually make it to the ceremony, but he had already confirmed he would make it to the celebration.
Currently, you and the other Seniors were sitting in the cafeteria, waiting to be called to the gym. Hailey was pacing in front of your seat .
"Hailey, calm down. Maybe he'll be here."
She shook her head. "This is when I wish my dad was an average guy."
Ever since Eminem came back into the music scene, his fame had skyrocketed. He could barely leave his house without getting mobbed.
You looked at your best friend. "Hailes, do you really think your dad would miss your graduation?"
She sighed. "He's missed important things before."
One of our teachers came in, "Alright guys, let's go!"
Everyone stood up, and got in alphabetical order, just like you had practiced.
The music started, and all of the Seniors filed into the gymnasium. You scanned the crowd, but you didn't see Hailey's dad. This was going to disappoint her.
Everyone took their seats. The principal got on stage, and introduced herself. She started talking about graduation.
You sat patiently, and waited for your name to be called.
"Y/N"
You got up and walked on stage. You shook the principals hand, and grabbed your diploma. You smiled, and walked back to your seat.
As you got to your seat, Hailey was called on stage.
"YEAH, HAILEY! THATS MY BABY GIRL!" You heard someone yell from the crowd.
Hailey's face lit up. She got off the stage and went to her seat.

After the ceremony, you and Hailey met up. Both of your families were going to celebrate together.
Your family walked over to you, and hugged you. They congratulated you, and Hailey. Her family came over to the group, and her dad was with them.
"I told you of try my best to make it."

I'm so sorry this is late!! I'm hoping the longer chapter will make up for it a little. I'm back into my writing mode, so they'll be more chapters up.
