"THIS IS AMAZING!!" I quietly squeal to Zoe as we wait in line to get it.
The entrance is like a big round hollow tube that you walk through to enter a giant dome filled with workshops and stars and celebs.
That line was long but because we got there at opening it moved quickly. When we were inside we found a "you are here" sign and planned our day. Zoe was an actor and had a presentation scene at the movie a film centre at 11am. It was currently 8.
"How about we both go do a quick walk through together to see what's here, then I can watch your scene and then we can do another lap and have a better look." I say in excitement as I catch a glance of the animation centre. Each centre has its own entrance and around a giant arch are different animated characters all moving out and interacting.
"Yep that sounds great" Zoe says as we start walking around.
The exhibition was amazing. Except our plan sucked. We ended up spending an hour in physical animation and puppetry, another hour in CGI and drawn digital animation and then 30 minutes in tv and editing before we had to head over to the "SET" so Zoe could get ready.
Zoe when out the back to get ready and the producer yells at me "hey you get over here" I walk over and she starts talking about a movie that is coming out soon that she is so proud of Zoe for doing and is very excited for the release of. "What, Zoe filmed an actual movie" a satin disbelief. She never told me. I knew she had been in small plays and short films but never a full movie. "Are you alright" she asks starting to look concerned at my confused face. " yeah I'm fine , Zoe never told me about this. It's sounds amazing." Why wouldn't she tell me. It's such amazing news."
A couple minutes later I see Zoe come out onto the set. She sits down in one of the stools behind a fake kitchen bench and reads through her lines one last time.
After a while I notice people gathering around to watch and I relived there all standing behind red velvet line dividers. "did you want me to go back and stand with everyone else" I ask the producer. "no way hun, your with the cast".
At 11:15 Zoe stands up. The producers turns around and introduces the scene to everyone before it begins. "This scene is about a girl who's older brother, the top student and favourite child, has been sentenced to trial for steeling the principals car and crashing it in the schools pool."
"What the hell is wrong with you" zoe screams facing the kitchen.
I tall guy with brown curly hair walks in behind her. His eyes glance out to the audience before he jumps into character and his soft deep eyes instantly drown me in calmness.
"Don't you believe me that it wasn't my fault! That dickhead Clayton, spiked my drink at the party, do you really think I would do that."
"I just don't get why you hang around them if you hate them so much. Come on your not an idiot, everyone likes you, you could have a girlfriend and nice friends if you wanted to"
" you don't understand Abby, you don't have the same pressure as me"
" oh. Really. Because not everyone swoons at my feet and get perfect grades and have all the teachers rooting for me I don't understand your pressure" Zoe was no standing on the middle of the couch layout, while the other guy was still standing were he began.
" that's not what I meant" he says with a calmer tone"
" yeah of course it's not"
They both turn to face the front and I'm confused for a second till I realise that's scene. The boy from the act is looking around the audience smiling and waving slightly. He looks towards me and I catch his eyes. His confident smiling face disappears and I get a glimpse of his eyes widening and his smile sinking. I smile at him and he grins for a second before he keeps waving through the audience. Zoe runs up to me and I jump slightly as I stop myself from staring in a daze.
" so, how was it!" She asks in excitement
" aahhh omg it was amazing. Why didn't you tell me you were doing a big movie you bitch" I say pinching her arm.
" okay okay I'm sorry I was just to excited to jinx it"
" yeah yeah alright"
"So we have another scene in 10 but I thought we could quickly grab a bite."
"Yeah that sounds good"
We head over to the cafe in the movie centre, Zoe line up to grab us both a sandwich while I head to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror washing my hands a stare at my self. Smile. Say hi I'm y/n. And pretend to laugh a little. Someone walks in and I jump a little and put on some chapstick. I head out of the bathroom slightly embarrassed and I jump when I here "hey" right next to me. As I look to see who it was I see it's the guy from the set.
"Oh hi"
" sorry didn't mean to scare you, I'm Lucas"
Fuck I can't believe I just jumped that's so embarrassing
"Oh hi, I'm y/n"
" so not to be forward but how come you were at the set" he asks
" oh I'm here with Zoe."
" oh. She's really cool"
" yeah" I respond and start walking back to the cafe
Lucas follows me back all the way to the cafe and when we get there I turn around and ask " do you want to sit with us"
"Yeah sure" he says
I sit down and look wide eyes to Zoe. She smiles and laughs at me making a kissy face before she is cut of by Lucas walking behind me and say hey.
"Hey Lucas I guess you've met my bestie"
" yeah she's pretty cool, what were you think keeping her to yourself"
I smile and laugh as I slowly die inside. This is so embarrassing.
I watch the rest of the scenes and Lucas walks around the exhibit with us for the rest of the day. But all I think is omg who is this guy he's amazing and stared at him. All I saw from the exhibit that day was the animation, and there first scene. Then all I saw was Lucas.
