I woke up with an excruciating headache with no memory of how I got home and in my bed for that matter. I only had a couple drinks but I guess that was more than enough for me. I slowly got up rubbing my temples struggling to find my phone. I finally found it on my dresser beside my clutch and keys. I unlocked it to read a couple missed texts from my girls.

Group Chat💕💕 (Aaliyah, Kim)

Kim: Bitch I woke up hungover af😩

Aaliyah: Yeah, your dumbass was dancing and looking for Chris all night

Kim: oh wow, no memory of that👀

I softly chuckled, relieved I wasn't the only that woke up feeling horrible. I quickly replied a message

Y/N: Yeah I woke up feeling horrible too and yeah Kim the party animal😂

A small memory of Kim dancing and yelling her favorite song flashing through my mind.

I placed my phone back on my dresser and headed downstairs eager to get Advil and eat something.

I headed into the  lit kitchen wincing from the bright light and rubbing my temples again. I reached in the medicine cabinet grabbing the bottle of Advil before grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge and a granola bar from the pantry. I sat at the kitchen island looking out the window at the gloomy weather outside as I ate my granola bar. Boston rarely ever had sunny days I thought. Once I finished I threw my trash in the garbage can and headed back upstairs. It was Saturday which meant I had to volunteer at the hospital around 3pm. As much as I wanted to call my advisor, coming up with some excuse as to why I couldn't go I sighed. I needed a great recommendation letter from her If I was going to get into a good college and begin my dream career as a doctor. I walked into the bathroom stripping off my clothes and stepping into the hot shower, allowing the steaming hot water to wake up me up. I washed my body with my coconut body wash before quickly co-washing my shoulder length curly hair and stepping out, wrapping my pink towel around me. " Hey honey" my mom yelled from downstairs as she carried in the groceries. " Hey mom" I yelled back as I shut the door to my room, before applying lotion and deodorant and slipping on my dark navy blue scrubs. I headed back into the bathroom to add moisturizer to my skin and a little under eye makeup to hide the lower bags under my eyes. I brushed my hair adding conditioner before pulling it into a low messy bun. I brushed my teeth and headed downstairs. " I got  those smoothie drinks you love so much" my mom said smiling as she put the remaining groceries away. " Thanks mom" I said as I slipped on some socks from the laundry room and headed to the front door slipping on my comfortable Nike shoes. She looked back at me and smiled " I'm so proud of you" she smiled "you have so much going on and are still thinking about your future" . I smiled lowly " yeah" I replied lowly before being pulled into a hug. I lightly hugged my mom back, taking in her sweet vanilla scent before letting go. My mom always worked to hard, my dad left when I was baby leaving her to raise me alone. She did a great job at raising me but it made me work hard not to disappoint her. She'd probably be so disappointed I woke up with a hangover I thought, disappointing her wasn't an option."I should get going" I say as I tie the drawstring tie around my waist. "Okay see you later honey" my mom said as she went upstairs, probably eager to take a nap as the overnight shift always wore her out. I went back upstairs to my room grabbing my phone and bag before heading outside into my car.

"Hmm" that's odd I peered over my passenger seat, seeing how back the seat setting was. I shrugged it off " I probably just had my bag there or something I thought to myself as I backed out the house parking lot onto the main road. Not remembering I adjusted it last night to lay back as a complete stranger drive me home.

Around fifteen minutes later I arrived at the hospital parking my car and looking at the time on my dashboard. I was a little early but I figured I should probably get my shift started. I plugged my headphone into my phone, listening to The Weeknd's smooth voice. I softly hummed along as I walked through the dimly lit hallway to find the doorway to the stairs. One of the lights slowly blinking as I walked under it. "Finally" I thought as I approached the gray door reading " STAIRS B". I opened the door turning on the light switch. I slowly walked up the stairs hearing banging footsteps behind me. I turned around taking out one of my headphones, not seeing anyone I quickly picked up my pace, paying more attention to my feet going up the stairs than in front of me.

I gasped as I collided into someone. " Sorry" I said as I looked up being met with beautiful light brown eyes. He was tall but not much taller than me, had blond/brown hair cut, and wore a sheepish grin. " No problem " he said as he looked down at me. I looked into his eyes a little more, they looked a little familiar. I'd remember if I met someone as sexy as him I wondered. I looked away, staring at the bland colored white and gray stairwell " well I'm gonna go" I softly said as he still looked at me. " Okay" he smirked. I slowly headed up the stairs turning to my side as he was still standing on the stairwell. I climbed the stairs as he still stood there, just looking at me. I didn't feel threatened, "maybe he was lost and would ask for directions" I thought as I adjusted my bag on my shoulder. " Hey baby" he said as he climbed to the stair I was on. I slowly turned around " umm I have to go and start my shift" I said attempting to leave in a non rude way. He quickly grabbed my wrist dragging me to the floor level in the stairway. " Hey get off of me" I yelled, trying to break my wrist free. He chuckled " No baby, we have to go now", he placed his hood over his head as he placed his hand over my mouth, silencing any way of me screaming for help. I quickly kicked his leg attempting to get free " don't do that" he whispered in my ear turning me around to face him. His light brown eyes had turned a sinister shade of dark brown. I slowly nodded, tears forming in my eyes. He pulled me down the stairs, out to his car, one of his hands remaining tight on my wrist and the other over my mouth. He quickly unlocked the car doors, opening the passenger door and pushing me inside. He grabbed a damp cloth from the glove box before pressing it up to my nose. The last thing I saw were his brown eyes looking up at me and his face smirking " I'll see you soon baby" he said as everything faded to black.
