The library is very peaceful. The soft sounds of book pages being flipped, the tapping of feet on the floor, and of course the vibrating sound of the air conditioner can be heard all around.
Pisces is reading her favorite book peacefully on a small couch next to the window. Good lighting and a quiet place hidden by bookshelves. No one could possibly find her there.
In comes Virgo, the air seemed to become livelier the moment he stepped into the library. Whispers of admiration danced in the air, coming from the girls who laid eyes on the lad.
"It's Virgo, the top student in his class." one whispered.
"Never mind that! His fashion sense is what drives most girls crazy. Just look at how he dresses! How dreamy.." another said.
Virgo. He likes keeping himself clean, and so does his taste in clothing. Never been one to seek attention, he's quite the shy type. How ironic for him how he did not intend to stand out by wearing neat and normal yet comfy clothes put him on the spotlight instead.
Pisces could hear the whispers from Virgo's admirers, but she was enjoying her reading so much that she couldn't notice that the charming yet shy boy was walking towards her.
"Um.. Pisces?"
She looked up. Oh no. "Why are you here?"
".. I needed to look for a place that's a bit s-secluded from all the people." Virgo stuttered.
Pisces tried to cover up her face with the book she was reading. "Well sorry, but this place is taken. Go look somewhere else." Pisces made a shoo-ing gesture. He really needs to stop looking so drop-dead gorgeous. It's bad for her heart.
Virgo glanced at the cover of the book Pisces was reading. He frowned. "Oh."
"Oh?"
"Planned on reading that book.. Guess you beat me to it." Virgo let out a smile.
"It's a classic. Didn't know you'd like to read something like this, Mr. President." Pisces looked up at Virgo and immediately regretted it.
Trying his best not to sound hurt, he told Pisces how much he admired how the book was written. He loved how the author used sophisticated yet enticing words and the way the events of the story was well laid-out.
Pisces was amazed at how passionate Virgo talked about the book she was reading. She never knew someone could have a fondness for books just as much as she does.
"I think I might have misjudged you.." Pisces said as she closed the book.
Just then, voices of girls could be heard nearby and it sounded as if they were coming close.
"Are you sure he went this way?" one asked.
"Positive. My eyes didn't stop following him 'till he was covered by the bookshelves." the other replied.
Crap. Pisces absolutely does not want people to see her with Virgo, that could stir up trouble and lots of gossips. She couldn't possibly deal with that.
Virgo looked just as alarmed as Pisces and put a finger to his lips. He slowly crept towards her as silently as possible, one step after another. When he almost made it to the couch Pisces was sitting, he stumbled on an uneven piece of wood nailed to the floorboards and fell unto Pisces. However, he managed to put his hand on the wall just before they could clash onto each other. Phew, that was close.
Pisces was dumbfounded as their faces are merely an inch away from each other. She gazed at Virgo's emerald eyes. She could see her own reflection in them and boy she doesn't look calm at all.
Virgo couldn't close his mouth. He was just as shocked as Pisces. She really had big purple eyes. It reminded him of amethysts - his favorite kind of gemstone.
"Um," Virgo tried to muster up what to say while being in this awkward situation.
"Did you hear that? It sounded like it came from that direction."
"Let's go! Virgo must be close!!"
Crap crap crap. Why isn't Virgo moving? He'll expose us even more in this position! Pisces' mind was panicking and her heart was racing.
RIIIING!
The library bell rang. That means it's closing time.
"Everyone, please slowly step out of the library and make sure you bring all your belongings with you." the Librarian announced.
The girls groaned and went back immediately.
Virgo then recovered from his state of shock and stood up straight. "S-sorry about that."
"It was an accident. It's fine." Pisces said as she stood up as well. She walked towards the shelf where she took the book and returned it back where it belonged. She looked at Virgo and smiled. He wasn't such a bad person after all. "Come along then, Mr. Class President. Library's closing."
Virgo always admired Pisces. She's often so quiet in class that she looked almost invisible to everyone else. However, she's always stood out amidst everyone in the eyes of Virgo. She's smart, eccentric, and has a beautiful mind. Virgo never had the guts to confess his admiration for her.
Pisces headed for the door and gestured Virgo to follow.
When they both stepped outside, the Librarian took a quick glance at them just before the door closed.
"Ahh, young love."
