I just arrived in the airport in Korea. One thing I'll say I've noted since I got here, which was about an hour ago, is that I'm definitely not as well known here as I am in the USA or Europe. I mean I saw one or two people looking at me, but that could also just be because of how I look.
Most people are looking like they could go off down a catwalk with no trouble whatsoever, and here's me in sweat pants and a hoodie. I'm not one to dress up, and if I am, it's probably because my best friend is present.
Hailee Steinfeld. Living legend. Most known for Pitch Perfect and her singing career. Also lesser known for forcing her friend to dress up all the time.
That's my best friend by the way. Hailee and I met at an award show and we kinda just became friends on the spot.
I was told I'd be staying in an apartment and was free to have any guests over, so I'll have to have her come over at some point. I've only been here a short while and I already sorta like it.
I'm really nervous now though. Part of, well all of, the reason why I learned Korean was because I'm so mad into K-pop. So now, if I actually ever meet any bands/singers that I'm a fan of (i.e Blackpink, Bigbang, Gdragon, SHINee, Exo and Btssss), I'll probably just collapse on site. Which wouldn't be very good. At all.
I noticed something during the interview that's at this point kind of bothering me. My boss went out of his way to make sure he didn't mention the name of the company I'd be working at, which is why I've only referred to it as 'The company' so far. So now I'm more then certain I'm working with a band I'm a fan of. Which makes me both way more nervous and way more excited.
I just got a call saying there was someone here to collect me so I better start making my way outside.
I might get a green tea on the way.
