Pearl along a cheek,
I witnessed as exposed were your pains,
I cried as you screamed happiness.
Long awaiting
through the crackled wind ;
there was no time to run,
and time ran faster than us.
Perhaps, this is how fate is written ;
leaves guided in spring,
dying as the cold tricks.
Deep in thoughts were the ones smiling,
there I was observing
mornings tripping one by one,
clueless of the moon's sighs.
Sure, dreams travel
and clouds remain ;
a ring pierces the rain,
if only it could be stained.
I didn't know the dos and the donts,
those you felt
by the looks they gave.
I only knew the tries and the falls,
those you lived ;
past tense for quiet hardships.
Miracles of a truth untold
drive our shames and sorrows.
You taught me
the grey of the world,
the beauty of the bridge,
the tear of the kid.
Yet, you forgot,
there were two of us sitting
on the school bench,
ready to learn the words and the seas.
Should I be mad,
or should you be in my arms?
Should I be calm,
or should guilty embrace my skin?
I wasn't,
nor I will be
the help you need
when red are your eyes,
when weak are your lies.
I couldn't,
nor I can be
different from the one watching
the life you've been leading.___
So now, please,
tell me,
and tell them
how to hold a glass of wine
and how to smoke under a judging oak ;
how to nap by a southing lake
and how to snap
when they come our way.
Tell me how we will grow
and how it will end,
how one will fall
and how another will stand.
Tell me,
just as your hand left mine,
alone in the desert I had built ;
tell me how I'll transform it
into the only place I would like
to live in.
Tell me,
do you hear my voice
or am I talking to myself?
I can't bear being ignored
but I can accept you becoming deaf._______________________
