Wake up

The next morning I woke to my phone ringing on my bedside table, and the caller ID showing Natalie's name. I hesitantly answered, wishing to return to my slumber, "What do you want? It's early and I desire sleep." I laid my head on my hands, struggling to keep my eyes open as my brain persistantly screamed at me to depart from reality and sneak back to dreamland.

"I don't think you are aware what time it is, or even what day it is? I want you to arise from the spot in which you're lying, and go check you freakin' calender!" Natalee told me. I reluctantly got up and dragged myself over to my calender, looking at the day's date my eyes went from half sleeping to OH MY GOD I'M LATE! Of course one of the days where I didn't sleep my band decided it was a good time to have band practice at 6 in the morning to 10 oclock at night.

"Oh my god! Who's idea was it to have practice at six in the freakin' morning? It definetely wasn't mine because unlike others I value my slumber time. Well I guess I'll be over at Will's in 15, don't let him eat all the doughnuts!"

"Okay I'll try." she said and then the line went dead. Quickly I put myself together one piece at a time; under wear, which were black and white skulls, skinny jeans (black of course), bra, a Pierce The Veil band shirt, Black Veil Bride socks socks, and then my normal Crown The Empire converse. My makeup consisted of a pound of black eyeliner, white eye shadow, concealer, which unlike the opinion of others does not make my face give off an orange tint. My mascara took the longest because every time I went to apply it on the bottom lashes it would create havoc on my eyeliner.

By the time I was finally dressed and presentable for human eyes it was a whole half and hour past six, so I quickly grabbed a cup of coffee my mom made for work and ran out the door.

After one mile of pure speeding and another of looking for cops I finally arrived at my intended destination. I went around the back of Will's house to a door that led to the basement where we had practice each night for an hour or two until Saturdays when it feels like eternity, but its all okay because half the time we're doing stupid shit anyway. "Hey guys sorry I'm late," I said innocently walking through the door. Of course the feeling in the air was mutual between them; we need to finish recording this demo. Now.

"It's alright Paigey we thought you just had a rough night, but uh next time set an alarm in advance," Will said compassionately, probably hoping I'll tell him what happened last night. I mean it's not like I have a desire to hold secrets from them, but sometimes things need to be kept untold. Will seems to always be on my case when I show up late for something or I am somber. At least someone cares enough.

"Okay," I said, "first order of business, where's the doughnuts?" everyone laughed and Terry pointed to the table in the corner of our little home built practicing and recording studio.

"Now that everybody's here we can finally get this demo done!" Natalie beamed with excitement.
