I ran as fast as I could. Away from them... the people with no faces. I forced my body to go faster and faster. Until I had to stop - a dead end. What am I going to do? Suddenly I see a cave. It obviously wasn't there before. But I went in anyway.  I took twists and turns and ducked from bats. He feeling of their nails digging into my skin didn't bother me. I focused on my goal. Then there was nothing. Another dead end. I saw a wall of rocks and boulders,  and tried to move them out to make way for me to escape. Escape from what? I had no idea. I heard a whimpering from behind me and I spun around to see who it could be. "Please...Help..M-me." Said a little boy, Weeping in the back of the room. I run over to him, and crouch down near him. "Hey, hey what happened are you ok?" I say. The boy covers his face with his hands and sniffs. "No, I'm not ok. They got to me, before you came along. Years ago. I tried escaping, to get back to my own family, but they kept me in this cave. Hidden from the outside world." He says. "Then how did I find the cave? " I asked him." They knew you'd come. They want to make a new family, because the others -my brothers and sisters- died out a looong time ago. " He says. I noticed how he kept saying a long time ago, so I asked, "How old are you?" "Seven, I think." He replied. I shifted my balance from my left leg, to my right. "When's your birthday? Do you know?" i asked him, a little bit scared by his response. "1923. I was seven in 1923." He said. I went to move his hands to see his face but he didn't let me. "Let me see your face!" I shouted and he moved his hands. He looked up at me and I felt a chill run up my spine. My body seemed to get warmer and warmer, and i wanted to scream on top of my lungs. But fear held me there. I couldn't move; I was paralyzed. He had no face. "How..." Was all I managed to say as I slowly stepped away from the boy."All I want is a family.Wont you be my sissy?" He says, stepping closer. I tried to run, but felt a cold body up against my back. "Darling, don't be scared. We'll be your new family, since you didn't like your old one...Just let us take your face." Said the woman who seemed to be the mother. "We promise we'll share it." Said the male. I took a deep breath, ready to give in. I couldn't escape, and I couldn't win this battle, not this time.

Suddenly I wake to my alarm clock. I look at the time. 10:00 am. Then I hear stuff being unloaded from a truck. I get up out of bed from my cat nap, and go down stairs. "Hey, Alyssa!New neighbors!!" Says my little brother, Richie. "Duh. I can hear them unloading. It woke me up." I groaned. After eating cereal I got dressed and went out to watch the new people. As I watched the men take out furniture, I focused on the couple, who seemed to have hoods on. I couldn't make out their faces. But I shook it off.

This little boy kept staring at me... and I knew he looked familiar. So I walked up to him. "Are you new?" I asked him. He nodded. "How old are you?" I asked. He looked young. "Seven, I think." He said. My heart sank, and I suddenly felt the urge to run. It couldn't have been a coincidence. Then I looked at the clothes. The same as the boy in my dream. He looked just like the boy, only with a face. Instead of running, I ask him more questions. "What's your name?" I say. "Dillon. Can I tell you a secret?" He says. I hesitated for a moment, but then said,"Yeah, of course, Dillon." I bent down and turned my head so he can whisper in my ear. He was a bad whisperer. He was just like Richie, and i wanted to laugh. But I couldn't. Because of what he said. It scared me. "This isn't my real family. They took me away...they want to take you, too." I moved back away from him. "Don't be scared of me, be scared of them. Just don't look at their faces, okay? You know what I'm talking about... Promise!!" He said, yelling promise. I shook my head up and down. He ran away and I noticed the two figures with hoods watching us. Then I noticed he was running to them. He hugged/Squeezed the woman and man's legs. They hugged him back. He turned around and did a sshh notion with his finger and lips.

Later on I decided to go out. I don't know why, but I found myself on the doorstep of my new neighbors. The woman opened the door and smiled. "We've been waiting for you..." She says. Her face changes and I run away from them...The people with no faces. Before I knew it, my dream was playing out. this rime, for real. I heard the little boys voice in my head: don't look at their faces.  And I didnt. I just ran for my life. Once I was in the cave, there was no little boy this time. Just the couple, chasing me. Again with the bats, and i ignored them. I felt my hair and realized that there's was a lot of bat poo in it. Yuck. All of a sudden, They found me. I struggled to let go of their grasp but they were too strong. I gave up."Look at us!!" They yelled over and over again. Letting my curiosity take over, I looked up. I met my gaze with a mirror. I had no face. I turned around, sheer with horror. "I told you not to look at their faces." Said Dillon.  "Now it's to late..." He says, and I blank out.

I see my mom and dad, staring into my dead cold eyes. "I don't want this..."  I said,  staring back at the people with no faces...My parents and brother, Richard Dillon. This was it, I let them do whatever they pleased to me. I couldn't take it. I knew I couldn't run. Soon I will be just like them...
