"Hey Kimberly! I hear there's a new student. They're a guy and somehow they were invited to that party on Saturday so they most likely are known by Liam meaning, he can be my friend if you know what I mean." Ella comes out of no where and begins walking with me.
"Mid-year? They allow new students to come into school in the middle of the year?" I ask a little confused as I come up to my locker.
"Honestly, I don't know. Maybe he's an exception?" Ella watches me with one eyebrow raised up as I start taking out notebooks I need for my last two classes.
I close my locker,"By chance do you know his name?" The halls start filling up with more students.
"I believe it's Asher but don't quote me on that! I'm not exactly sure if it's true." Ella raised her voice as she starts walking the opposite direction once we exit the building as the bell rings.

I don't even know why Ella's my friend. She hangs out with people that always party and are loud. I think it's because we've been friends since Elementary but either way that's surprising. I thought people don't really stay with friends they had before high school.

The sound of a whistle blowing and people playing badminton fill the gym. I watch as birdies fly over peoples head for two hours until it's time to go and change for our next class. Luckily my gym locker is near the exit so I don't rush changing into my clothes.

I put on my mustard yellow crop top that compliments my caramel skin followed with black sweatpants and my old pair of converse shoes. Having time to spare I brush my thick black hair into a ponytail and pull a few short strands out in the front to try and frame my slightly round face. As I grab my backpack the bell rings just in time giving me eight minutes to get to my next class, Language Arts.

Luckily this class is close to the gym so it doesn't take me long to get there, usually there's no one in the class besides my teacher Mr. Perez so I get a minute or two to complain to him. My seat is right next to his desk against the wall like Ella's although she's next to me on my right.  People start coming in and chatting with their friends while setting down their stuff, everyone already knows each other.

Ella finally comes into class looking a little flustered and immediately goes to her desk,"Did we have homework?" she asks.

Before I could reply in comes a guy who no one seems to know so everyone just stares at him and to add to this moment the bell rings drowning out the irrelevant conversations.
