<•Birdie's 1st person POV•>

I wasn't always blind. It was when I was little, about three years old, that's when I lost my eye sight.

It was sudden, an unexplainable phenomenon. I just.. lost it. Nothing else to say.

So, because I was three, I didn't know what the colors names were, and I didn't know what almost the whole world was. I would basically be home all day so I barley saw anything. Not that I even remember it. And when I turned into this blind, baffled little kid people would think that since I'm blind all I would see is darkness, correct?

Wrong.

I never see darkness. It was all just flashes of bright, ever- changing colors, squashed shapes, squiggles, and clouds. I could never focus on the world around me because of this. It was just too distracting and painful.

Younger me tried to close her eyes and hide under the bedsheets to try and block out all these distractions, but it never worked... it never goes away.

But I've learned since then. I learned that I'm stuck with this terrible curse that stumbled upon me in a cluster of little children, a curse that took my whole sight away right from under my nose without a trace to cure me.

Like Liam said, 'I've learned to live with it'. I've learned to do everything independently, keeping myself restricted to others and putting on a false face of confidence. Shielding myself from others to keep what I fear most hidden.

I fear pity.

<•Elizabeth's 3rd person POV•>

'He.. he... he just did a quadruple(also know as a quad) axel. IT'S ONLY THE FIRST DAY WTF!?' Elizabeth thought as he did a 41/2 revolution in the air. Her jaw dropped along with the other students as they slammed to a halt and grasped the edges of the rink for support. Everyone stoped and stared.
There was only the sound of Liam's skates hitting the ground. Then, he slowly raised his arms up in a graceful pose.

All of the others stared in shock and awe at his performance.

"Wha- how did you- that jump has  never been completed in the history of figure skating competitions and you just landed it without ease!" Ms. Jax suddenly spoke up, voice echoing around the previously silent rink. "And your only 17 years old! How!?" Her accusations just raised Elizabeth's admiration tworeds Liam, not to mention how proud she was of him.

"What happened, Lizzy?" Birdie spoke up, twisting her head in her direction, head cocked to the side with questioning look.

"Hmm? Oh, Liam just did a jump nobody has ever done before!" Well, that may not have been true. Because, why would that be a thing if nobody's done it before? Why create something when you don't even know how to complete it? That's just, well, irrational.

"Hmm.." Birdie hums, then whispered, "that's interesting.."

"What did you say, Birdie?"

"It's nothing, Lizzy. Let's go check up with Liam!" She says, skating forward tworeds where she last heard his skates.

Elizabeth hurried after her, grabbing her arm to push her a little to the side because she was a bit off-point.
'I could have sworn she said something,' she thought, glancing up to her tall friend. 'I wish she was more open to me and a little less reserved. She knows all I'm trying to do is help but she almost always resists. I wonder what's wrong...'
