Serpent past

HERMIONE'S POV
When Veronica came back from school; she didn't say a word.

Had I done something wrong?

I knocked on her door.

"Mija, are you okay back there?" I asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, just---laying down with some music.." She replied.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Sure." She replied.

When I opened the door she had her black headphones on while laying down in her bed.

"How was school mija?" I sat down next to her in the bed.

"Good, surprisingly I made some friends. One of them was named Toni Topaz I think." I twitched my eye and smiled nervously after my daughter said, 'Topaz.'

"Topaz? As in Southside Serpents?" I suspiciously asked.

"Yeeeaah? What or who are the Southside Serpents?" Veronica asked.

FLASHBACK

Young F.P Jones comes up to the stage.

"Guess we have our newest Serpent, Hermione Gomez!" F.P gave me his jacket so that I could cover the lingerie I was wearing.

*whistling & cheering*

I had done the Serpent dance when I was way younger.

"ALICE, MY BABY!!!" Young F.P shouts carrying Young Pregnant Alice Smith.

"It was supposed to be for Hiram----" I quickly whisper to Alice before Hiram drags me to the car.

"Mother?" Veronica waved her hands infront of my face.

"Veronica, Southside Serpents are a very dangerous gang." I said trying not to sound exaggerated.

"Please just promise me you will be more careful than ever towards them. Me and your father have an.....past with those Serpents, understand me?" I took a deep breath.

"Don't get me wrong mija, they will do ANYTHING to protect each other...They are all a family, if a Serpent is killed or imprisoned, their family will be taken care of..--" I had said too much now Veronica is suspicious.

"No wonder I was getting strange looks today..." I carassed her hair behind her ear.

"I understand though mother." She replied.

"Are you hungry? Because I have been craving one of Pop Tate's cheeseburgers since noon. Do you think his Chock'lit Shoppe is still be open mija?" I asked.

"What is a Chock'lit Shoppe and why does it sell burgers?"
