"Shard, wake up! Shard!" I quickly sit up on my bed, with my blanket curled up around me. That's when I realized that everything that happened, was just a dream. I barely looks at Aura who seems satisfied that she finally got me up, before groaning and falling backwards onto my bed and covering my head with the blanket.
I didn't have to even look to tell that she was probably giving me the same look that she gave me in the dream. Except this one being a more condescending look rather than a 'please stop being stupid' look. I just snuggle deeper into my blankets while clutching a good chuck of it to avoid any sort of light peering through and to help prevent Aura from throwing the blanket off of my bed.
"Shard, get up it's already 10:00. We need to at least go to school today to write that computer science test, you don't think I want to stay home too?" She says with a slightly annoyed tone in her voice.
"But I'm sleeeeeeeeeeepy" I said in a whiny voice. I knew she was right, but I was having an awesome dream that she woke me up from. Though, I knew if I told her that, she would argue that we have fought monsters that are worse than dragons...'She wouldn't be wrong' I contemplated, while thinking of all the teachers that punished us for being late. 'but still, I rather would have liked to have finished that dream'.
I can hear a muffled sigh from underneath the mountain of blankets, followed by the sound of footsteps and a creaky door being swung open. 'I should really think of getting that fixed.'
"You have half an hour. If your not down by then, then I am taking away and moving Sir Kraken." She then leaves while closing the door behind her with a loud creak. I wait quietly as I hear her footsteps fading while she seems to be going down the stairs.
'She's right, I have to get up...'
"Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I yelled while kicking my legs to get up, I lift up my arms to stretch and then crack both of my wrists. I can hear Aura laughing from downstairs. "It's not funny!" I yelled back because I was still grouchy for having to get up when I was still tired. I just hear her laugh louder at my annoyance.
I looked outside to see that it was gloomy, with clouds covering the sky and not the single speck of sunlight to be seen. 'That's Pine's favourite weather, speaking of which, I should probably text her after school.'
I slightly tilt my head to take a glance at the time, it read 10:19am. 'Wait, 10:19?! When Aura came into my room didn't she say it was 10:00?'
As if on cue, Aura yells out from downstairs "10 more minutes sis! Otherwise I'm shipping Sir Kraken overseas!"
I quickly jump out of bed and make it, "I still have 11 more minutes!"
'I really don't want Sir Kraken shipped off to another continent for one, and I'm glad she hasn't realized I borrowed her powders yet. Otherwise she would have thought of something else more sinister to do.'
I grab some clothes from my wardrobe and make a sprint to my bathroom. 'Ahhhh, I don't have enough time!!!' I start brushing my teeth as fast as humanly possible without making my gums bleed. 'Wait a minute, could she have lied and said the time was 10:00 when it was maybe 10:15 or so?'
"Hey! Listen! There is 5 more minutes left for you to get downstairs and save Sir Kraken!" says Aura yelling up the stairs
'Crap crap crap crap, I don't have time to think of this!' I quickly wash my toothbrush and run into the shower because I am the morning shower type person.
As soon as I'm done I throw on my clothes and run back into my room to do my hair. I quickly take a glance at the time as I run into my room, '10:30'. I quickly find the nearest hairband and throw it on my head. 'My hair is naturally straight, it shouldn't look that bad...hopefully.' I then open my drawer and grab two of my contacts.
