1 hr and a half later ~
I woke up screaming and sweating and Joel and Benji ran so fast that they were in my room within seconds.
"Steph! Are you ok? Benji asked panicky
I was struggling to breathe. I pointed to my asthma puffer and signaled for them to pass it to me. Joel reached over and grabbed it and gave it to me. Benji helped me sit up and tried to calm me down a bit before I took my puffs.
"Deep breath in & deep breath out" he repeated about 4 times and every time he said it I breathed in and out. I then took 2 puffs with about a 10 second gap between them, then I took another 2 puffs. My breath was more controlled now than it was before. I was still sweating so Benji went and got a cloth and ran it under cold water until it was quite damp. Joel was by my side and I was lying down. Benji walked in with the cloth and handed it to Joel. He then placed it on my forehead. They sat in my room for a while until I settled down a bit.
"Are you feeling alright?" Benji asked
"A little bit" I replied, my voice still a bit shaky
"Did you need something to drink?" Joel asked
"Just a glass of cold water will be fine Joel. Thanks."
He walked out of the room and Benji say down leaning against my desk.
"If you don't mind me asking, was the dream about your parents?"
"It's ok. Yes it was about my parents but I don't think it was a dream. It was more of a nightmare!"
"So something had happened to them in your nightmare? Which caused you to scream and wake up suddenly?" Benji asked
"Yea" I replied but my tone had changed and sounded quite down and sad. "I don't really want to talk about it. Sorry"
"No, no, I understand! You don't want the thought of it back in your head"
"Yea. Thanks for understanding." I said with a small smile.
"That's alright! Me and J kind of understand what you're going through."
"How so?" I asked a bit confused
"Not too long ago actually, our father walked out of our lives pretty much on Christmas Eve a few yeas ago. We thought he was going to get some stuff from the store but he never came back. It was really tough for me and J because it was the least expected thing that we thought would've happened, to us. And I must admit that I had some bad dreams or nightmares about it and so did J. It was physically and emotionally challenging for us both and our mother."
"Mm I bet it was. I'm really sorry to hear that!" I said to myself, now that's something I never knew!
"Speaking of our mother, we want you to meet her. We've sort of told her about you. She said that from what she has heard of you, you seem like a lovely girl."
"Haha well thank you! And I would love you to meet mine but you know, THERE MISSING!!!"
"Everything will be fine I promise."
Joel said as he walked through the door with a glass of cold water.
"Thanks."
"Welcome." Joel said happily
They guys went back downstairs to watch TV. I checked my phone and it was 9:24 pm and I was extremely tired, but I was really scared to go back to sleep because I didn't want to have anymore nightmares about my parents.
I soon ended up falling asleep.
Later that night ~
I had more dreams or nightmares actually that were equally as scary and bad as the one I had earlier. I never knew that having my parents missing would cause this much trouble and all these thoughts, dreams and nightmares about them. And I absolutely hate it! Why did they have to go missing now! I have so many important thing to tell them, and a very important question to ask them. And at this point, I don't think that life changing opportunity is going to happen!
