It All Started At Their 1st Concert

They'll Be Ok

The next morning I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I walked down the stairs and found Joel and Benji cooking breakfast.

"Morning" I said to them in a drowsy voice as I entered the kitchen.

"Morning!" they both replied back.

"You guys obviously stayed the night?" I asked them

"Yea we did. We slept on the couch" Joel replied.

"Oh ok! You know you could've slept in the spare room. It has 2 single beds in there"

"Nah it's all good. The couch was pretty comfy!" Benji stated

After breakfast I decided to go and have a shower and get ready. Whilst I was in the shower I heard my phone ringing so I stopped the water, stepped out of the shower and answered my phone not really paying attention to who the caller was.

"Hello?" I asked cautiously

"Hi Steph". A highish tone voice replied

"Umm may I ask who is calling?" I started to feel very unsure about this phone call

"Ahaha can't you tell by my voice who this is?!" They replied

"No, I can't! Can you please just tell me!!" I started to get frustrated with this person who apparently knows me.

"Geez you really suck at this now don't you! Remember when we used to do this all the time when we were little kids just mucking around?"

"Seriously! Can you PLEASE just tell me WHO YOU ARE!!? Because I'm pretty sure you can hear that I'm getting quite frustrated with you now!!"

"Ok ok! Geeeeeez Steph, just calm down! Its me ....... (Silence) ....... Bella"

"Wait what!! My best friend Bella??"

"Ah duh! Obviously!! Im the only Bella you know remember?!"

"Yea I know but why didn't your name come up when you called me? Did you block your number?"

"No I got a new phone last night and Im just calling everyone to tell them I have a new phone!" Haha you totally got freaked out!"

"Ha ha very funny Bella! But please don't do that again, ok? I have some things going on at the moment."

"Sorry, I didn't know"

"It's ok! Anyway I've got to go! I'll call you later! Love you, bye"

"Bye"

After I hung up I got dressed and went downstairs. When I walked into the lounge room I saw Joel on the phone talking to someone and Benji had his head bowed into his hands. I walked over to Benj, sat down next to him and gave him a massive hug. He looked really upset but I didn't know what happened so I just waited until Joel was off the phone. I would've asked Benji what's wrong but he didn't look like he wanted to talk so I just sat there and hugged him and he rested his head on my shoulder and I heard him sobbing. About 5 minutes later Joel stood in front of me and mouthed 'kitchen now'. So I slowly got up trying not to wake Benji because he had fallen asleep on my shoulder and followed Joel into the kitchen. Joel's eyes were red and a little bit puffy and watery but I had absolutely no clue what had happened. We sat there in silence for what seemed ages until he finally spoke.

"So, how are you holding up? You know, with your parents missing and all that?"

"Uhh yea, fine I guess but I want to know why Benji is basically in pieces and why you look like you have been crying?"

"Well, something really horrible has happened. Benji's phone started ringing and he answered it and after about 5 minuets of talking he dropped the phone on the floor and collapsed to the ground screaming and crying I tried to comfort him but it just got worse. I picked up the phone and started talking to the person which was mum and they told me exactly what they told Benj and I started to cry."

"Oh my gosh! Joel if you don't mind me asking -"

"What happened?" He finished my sentence off

"Yea ..." By this stage I was starting to tear up a little because I didn't know what was going on and I was really scared!

"Well we just found out that our brother and sister, Josh and Sarah, were in a 4 car accident, which included their car, another car, a motorcycle and a truck. Everyone had been seriously injured and taken to hospital. We have no idea how they are doing but we do know that the motorcyclist died at the scene and the truck driver is being charged for drink driving, not carrying his license and some sort of drug overdose because they found cocaine and marijuana under the passengers seat. They haven't identified the motorcyclists body yet so no one knows who the person is but mum said she will call us again to give us an update on Josh and Sarah."

"Oh my god! Joel I'm so sorry!" I said to him, crying a lot. I walked over to him and gave him a huge hug.

I walked back into the lounge room and find Benji on his phone. I walk behind the lounge and see him scrolling through photos of Josh and Sarah. I wrap my arms around him from behind and give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I know they'll be ok Benj, I know they'll be ok" was all I said and I could feel him crying again.

It didn't really seem like Josh, Sarah, Joel and Benji were super super close but yet again they were family, but what I mean is that they never really saw each other like Joel and Benj were always touring with Good Charlotte and Josh and Sarah were off doing their own things but I guess deep down they were all so close and family is family and that's what really matters. That night Joel and Benji slept in the spare bedroom and when I went to bed I prayed for Josh and Sarah and the whole Madden family. I knew that everything was going to be alright and I knew that Josh and Sarah would make a marvellous recovery after the tragic events that had occurred.
