We entered a green, enormous forest. "This looks so normal. Is there people here?" I said. "I don't know, actually. This place doesn't have power to my arm-reader." She started tapping the device. "How much information does it have?" I asked. "Well, a lot actually. We learn a lot with our job, but the arm-reader has very impressive abilities. In certain places it contains information about where we are and what kind of place it is. The Leaders-" I interrupted her. "The leaders can shut them down?" I asked. She nodded. "Did your parents teach you that?" "Yeah I guess. I've had my experiences."
We walked for a bit in complete silence. I looked at her device. She was trying to get some sort of signal but nothing happened. "I'm so tired," I muttered. "Already?" I nodded. "Well, we can take a break when we reach a new zone." We continued walking.
Suddenly I heard talking. It sounded like people they were in a hurry. "Hush, do you hear that?" I said. She stopped. "No?" She seemed confused. "Really?" I heard the talking coming closer and closer. They were running. "What is THAT?" I said. "I can't hear anything." I started sobbing. "We need to hide, just get-" I started breathing rapidly. She stopped to listen. "You're not understanding!" I yelled. "Courtney, we have to fucking hide." She ignored my yelling. I grabbed her arm and ran the other way. She tried to refuse but we kept running.
We ran, while still hearing the talking and steps. We arrived at a hill. "Okay we'll just.." I was scared for my life. "Should we jump?" She sighed. "I can't hear them." I did. "Courtney, what should we do?" I let go of her hand. "Let's jump." I looked at her. "Are you crazy?" Now she grabbed my hand. We jumped, and it sounded like they were right behind us.
