Ria's pov:

I'm a surgeon. When people hear those words they think of a human being cutting up another human being open for fun, haha no. That's not it. I am a person who solves problems, like a math teacher. My whole job is hands on, well most of it is. I am a pediatric surgeon. I've had good outcomes from my surgeries and bad outcomes, the bad outcomes are what make me the strong willed woman I am today. To be a surgeon everyone thinks you have to be cold hearted and tough to see the things you see. I am not cold hearted, a little bit mean, but not cold hearted. I still have my moments.

I work in St. Louis' medical hospital in Atlanta. I spend most of my free time reading. Oh and did I mention that I am deaf? Well I bet you are wondering "How can a deaf person be a doctor!?!?" Yes it was hard at first but one thing we as human beings can do is adapt to new environments. I am only deaf, not deaf mute. The difference is that I can read lips and talk back to you. It was a hassle at first to get around the hospital, but by the end of my first year I knew how to manage everything. The pager I use at the hospital has different color lights to indicate what emergency I need to run to and it writes the room number on the screen. A couple of my colleagues try to catch on a bit of sign language from seeing me do it. Which I think is adorable.

My bestfriend Ariana is a nurse in the hospital. We were best friends ever since high school and took different paths in college but still found ourselves together in the hospital. Sure she was here in the hospital longer than me but we were still bestfriends. She always used to look out for me in high school and still looks out for me now. She's been there for me through drama, love, betrayal, and the worst .. heartbreak. Ugh speaking of heartbreak, my idiot of an exboyfriend broke up with me 3 months ago after a 2 year relationship. Remember when I said I was tough? Well I am definitely not tough when it comes to break ups.
