People say that giving birth is something magical. Going through all that pain during those 9 months but its all worth it in the end. When you are holding your baby girl/ boy, and they are so tiny and fragile. You get afraid of holding them too tight, thinking that they might break.

This is all going through my mind while I hold up the pregnancy test that says a plus sign. My best friend is pregnant. A wave of shock over fills my veins and I end up just standing there, emotionless. I eventually  hold onto her hands and push them downward so now they aren't covering her eyes.
"Well..." Ariana says hesitantly.
" I guess we have to start looking for baby names" I say to her. She embraces me in a surprise hug.
" This is so great, oh my god! Im going to have a baby, isn't this great!" She starts exclaiming  while jumping up and down in excitement. "
" Yea, its amazing isn't it" I say back.

In the midst of her jumping up and down in joy, her face suddenly turns blank.

"I'm pregnant.. " she says so slowly I had to really concentrate on what she was saying.

" Yyes love, we already established that" I say just as slow. While taking cautious steps towards the fragile woman.

"Ri, I don't know who the father is. " she signs, while  looking at my eyes for my reaction.

" Wwhat do you mean you don't know who the father is Ar, it's Justin.. " my eyebrows knit in confusion.

"We agreed to only you know... no strings attached kind of relationship. And I went out a couple of weeks ago with some of my nurse friends because we weren't talking.. Aand I neeeded a breaak... " her voice started to crack at that point.

I took her in my arms and soothed my now pregnant best friend as she started to tear up in my arms. Ari had always wanted a little one, we have had sleepless nights talking about how many kids we want, what sports they would play.. etc.

So I knew it wasn't the fact that she was having the baby that made her so upset, but it was how she didn't have a ring or her finger and by the sounds of it.. didn't even know who this baby's father was.

**

The next day was as hectic as the last. After purchasing a total of 5 different pregnancy tests, we confirmed that Ariana was most definitely pregnant.
And I will be most definitely the god mother. That means that not only is she having a kid, but I'm having a kid.

My mind was buzzing with ideas for a nursery. Then I started thinking about baby food, baby books, oh and baby poop. That last one is definitely not going to be my favorite department.

My patients are usually around the ages of about two and up, I haven't really had any patients that were much younger than that. We have a departments  in this hospital that consists of neonatal surgeons an what not. So babies were not in my field. Especially caring for them. That's usually all up to the nurses..

I'm 28 years old and yes, I know. I'm practically a toddler compared to my colleagues. Well I started school pretty early and finished high school at the age of 16. Online classes are really not that difficult and honestly, since I had nothing better to do I finished getting my bachelors degree by the age of 19, by filling my summer breaks with classes.

Fast forwarding my life, I am 28 years old. Not the youngest, however one of the youngest surgeons. I did my residency and internship here, so I pretty much knew I was going to be receiving the job.

Anyways, point is.. I never knew in my 28 years of existence that I was going to be in this situation.. with Ariana. Or at all.

Ay Dios.

Anyone have any baby advice?

I'm backk. Please let me know what ya think. I've grown and my writing is definitely a lot different than my 15 year old self. I was going to delete this whole thing but then I thought.. might as well keep going and edit like crazy later. Any thoughts? Comment and vote please .
