I woke up to the sound of someone calling my name over and over again.
I peeked through the darkness to be blinded by light.
I sat straight up and shivered.
"Why is it so cold in here?" I thought hugging myself.
I looked around the blinding room and waiting for my vision to focus. When it did I realized I was not in my room. I was on my porch.
I looked to my side to see him staring at me worriedly.
"Oh thank goodness! What are you doing out here sleeping?" He asked.
I shrugged and held up my book. "Late night reading"
He frowned and hugged me tightly. He was warm and I liked that.
I listened to his steady heart beat. Clear and steady. It's still there. I smiled.
I hugged back remembering how cold I was.
"Lets get you inside" he mumbled through my thin sweater I wore.
I nodded as he led me inside my house and to my kitchen table to see pancakes already made.
"Did you make these?" I asked in surprise.
"No. Some creepy homeless man did" he joked serving me some.
I fake frowned. "I hope there are no fleas in them" I joked as well flipping the pancake on my plate.
"I'm sure there are" he added with a smirk.
We laughed together and ate. For the rest of the day, we watched Disney movies together in my living room curled up in giant blankets and steaming mugs of hot cocoa.
I enjoyed every moment I had with him. Savoring it.
Soon enough, i fell asleep in his arms during Cinderella and her run from the prince.
I fell asleep to the beat of his heart. I couldn't help but whisper with closed eyes, "promise you'll never leave me?"
Before I slipped into darkness I heard him whisper, "I promise"
