‘Yas! Why did you gave your number to him?’ Margot seemed completely shocked. ‘I don’t know, he seemed.. Nice.’ ‘I thought,’ I said, ‘You were into Zayn?’ Yasmine got a blush. ‘Yes.. At least I think I am.’ ‘So why did you gave him your number?’ ‘I couldn’t turn him down.. That’s sad for him.’ ‘Are you inviting him to your 16th birthday party?’ I asked. Margot and I organized a party for Yasmine in two days, on Saturday, in our house. Margot’s mom and brother would be gone and there would be quite a lot people. ‘I don’t know, should I?’ I slowly nodded. ‘Yeah, there will be plenty of girls for him.’
‘Yasmine, for the last time, you look amazing. Now shut up!’ I said to the stubborn girl. ‘What if people don’t like my dress? Or what if I fall down the stairs with these crazy high heels?’ ‘You won’t. Now come on, we need to let our guests in.’ I looked quickly at the three of us in the mirror. Margot wore a strapless little black dress with a pair of killer heels. Yasmine wore her birthday dress, which we bought for her, and it was amazing. It was a soft pink dress with little diamonds on the top, matching with her shoes. I myself wore a cute Ivory dress, a halter A-line short dress. It was the kind of dress every girl would want to wear to her prom. Our hair was up, and our make-up was perfectly done. ‘Let’s go then.’
Every guest complimented our dresses, and told us how beautiful we looked. I had to admit it gave me some sort of ego boost. I was just saying hi to a friend who used to sit behind us in class, when I felt a strong arm wrapping around my waist. I looked around and met a pair of beautiful green eyes. ‘Give me a second,’ I whispered in his ear, ‘I’ll be right back.’ The doorbell ringed and I opened the door. Apparently Harry came by himself, because the other 4 lads were waiting at the door. I hugged them all and after welcoming them I went searching for Harry. I found him on the couch, sitting with a bunch of girls who all acted slutty. Ugh. People always changed when coming near to the boys. They usually changed in fake, slutty and overly nice people. I tickled him in his neck and he started to chuckle. ‘Sorry girls, talk to you later.’ He jumped on his feet and walked over to me. ‘Thanks for rescuing me,’ he whispered, ‘those girls are insane. How can you be friends with them? I giggled. ‘Believe me, they’re really nice, but they also want to date you, so they change into a bunch of sluts.’ ‘Weird that everyone thinks I always go out with that kind of girls,’ he said, ‘while I don’t like them the smallest bit.’ He looked hot. He was wearing a pair of dark jeans, a button up shirt and his trademark white converse. ‘Do you want something to drink? Like a beer or something like that?’ I asked him. ‘What are you going to drink?’ ‘Well, erm,’ I said, ‘Coke or something like that. Not 16 yet.’ (* this doesn’t belong in the story, this is the author speaking. In Holland it’s legal to drink when you’re 16, just saying. *) Harry chuckled, ‘Ahw, you’re so sweet and innocent.’ I stuck out my tongue. ‘A beer it is then?’ Harry nodded. ‘Yeah, I’ll walk with you.’ When we arrived in the kitchen I saw someone I didn’t really expect. ‘Justin?’ I said, ‘What are you doing here?’ He grinned. ‘I was invited.’ I mentally facepalmed myself. ‘I don’t mean in this house.. I mean in the kitchen. That’s not fun at all. You’re all alone here.’ He jumped on his feet from the table and stumbled a bit. ‘So, I’ll see you guys later. Have fun.’ He smelled like alcohol. I gave Harry a worried look. ‘He’s drunk, isn’t he?’ Harry nodded. I opened the fridge and grabbed a bear for him. ‘And he’s not the happy kind of drunk,’ Harry added.
I heard a glass fall. I gave Harry a fearful look. He ran immediately into the living room. I followed him. In the living room was everyone dancing, chilling or just talking. How was it possible that no one heard the noisy sound of the glass? I ran off to the balcony, where I found Zayn smoking, with an empty look in his eyes. ‘Zayn? What’s up?’ It looked like I got him out of some sort of trance. ‘Nothing.’ He ran his hand through his hair. I grabbed him by his shoulder. ‘Zayn? This doesn’t look like nothing.’ He sighed deep. ‘It’s just.. You know, Yasmine is with that Justin guy.. I hoped she kind of liked me.’ I felt my heart stopped beating. ‘Zayn. What did you say?’ ‘I said she is off with that Justin guy.’ ‘No. No. Fuck. Zayn walk with me, now. Oh fuck, I could’ve known this.’ I grabbed Zayn’s arm and run as fast as I could inside. Zayn was still surprised about my sudden action, but I had no time to explain it to him. I saw Harry asking for Yasmine to random people, and grabbed his arm too. The two boys looked confused at each other. I kicked against our bedroom door and saw a scared Yasmine standing against the wall. ‘What the actual..’ Zayn said, in full anger. Justin, who looked caught, tried to defend himself but Harry gave him a punch on his nose and it started to bleed directly. I ran over to Yasmine, who was crying, and hugged her tightly. Zayn and Harry were yelling at the drunk Justin, who didn’t seem to realize what he had done. ‘It’s okay, Yas, it’ll be alright.. Ssht, sweety.’
At 1:30 AM, after we send everyone home, it was just us and the boys. I was patting Yasmine’s back, telling her everything was over now. She told me what exactly happened. She and Justin were just talking, when he said he wanted to talk at a quieter place. They went upstairs. He pushed her up against the wall and he told her that if she would scream, he would kill her. She couldn’t tell anything more, because she wasn’t able to stop crying. Niall came out of the kitchen with a big mug of hot tea. ‘Thanks Niall,’ she whispered, ‘I really appreciate what you’re doing for me. I’m so thankful for all of you.’ Yasmine wiped her tears away, leaving black stripes on her cheeks. ‘Is it okay if I’m going to bed now? I just want to forget everything.’
Margot and I searched a much as mattresses, blankets and pillows as we could, and after about thirty minutes, we had three mattresses and a whole lot of blankets. ‘Okay guys,’ I said, ‘Yasmine is sleeping at our guests room, someone has to lie in there too, there’s another bed. Margot and I will sleep down here. So at least of our guests have a comfortable bed. Zayn volunteered as Yasmine’s guardian angel, oh my god my heart melted, it was so cute, Niall said he wouldn’t mind to sleep downstairs, and Liam and Louis wanted to sleep. As soon as everyone left upstairs, Niall ran from the bathroom in his boxers and a hoodie. ‘We’re so not gonna sleep on this sleepover.’ I jumped on one of the mattresses. ‘Seems like a good idea.. But we shouldn’t make it too noisy. I already feel really guilty about Yaz, let’s not make it worse.’ Niall fell on his knees and crawled to us. Harry was dying of laughter and Margot watched amused at the situation. ‘I will not,’ he whispered, ‘I’ll be good.’ He showed us his famous cute smiled and lied down next to Margot on the couch. ‘Sssht,’ he whispered, ‘Be quiet Marry..’ Harry sat down next to me. ‘How many did he drink?’ Harry chuckled, ‘Just two beers. He’s kind of a lightweight.’ ‘It’s adorable,’ I giggled. ‘Let’s watch a movie,’ Margot said, ‘It’ll keep us quiet.’ ‘I’m getting food!’
I heard a soft snore behind me. Margot’s head was on Niall’s lap, her eyes closed and her mouth a bit opened. Niall’s hand was tangled in her hair, and his head was on his hand. ‘They look so cute together.’ A soft, deep voice made my ears tingle. ‘I thought you were asleep?’ He shook his head. ‘I was just thinking.’ I gave him a surprised glare. ‘At this hour? About what?’ His sleepy head changed into a cheeky smile. ‘About that we would look even cuter.’
