It's funny, the classes in which I have no friends in are the classes that I enjoy the most. Second Block is one of them.

"Heeello everyone!" The teacher suddenly jumps up from his chair, startling me.

Everyone continues their own conversations

"How was everyone's weekend?"

No answer.

Finally the wannabe teachers pet feels bad enough to speak up.
"Mine was amazing Mr. Scakender, I went on vacation to West Virginia and did so many fun thin..."
I zone out

Mr. Scakender is very nice and tries his best but he always seems drunk. No one knows why, but no one cares, it's something we've learned to accept. He's just.. goofy.

At least it makes the class interesting.

I pull out my laptop and on the class page is the assignment. It makes absolutely no sense to me, I don't ever pay attention in class.
It's already second quarter though, I don't understand how I'm passing this class but I sure am thankful.

"I made up a new riddle today, wanna hear it?"
I look up and see Mr. Scakender right in front of me

"Why not" I respond. Anything to get out of doing this assignment.

I shut my laptop and lean forward.
He quickly turns around and stumbles up to the white board. He starts to write.
..

"What are the next two letters in the following series?" ,
W A T N T L I T F S _ _"
...
"..what?" I'm confused.
He reads the writing out loud and yet I still can't figure it out, I'm just brain dead today, usually riddles are a breeze to me.

I'm silent, thinking. But of course, nothing is clicking in my head.

"Wait what? What is that for?" I hear someone question behind me

"Its a riddle I made today" Mr. Scakender giggles

The owner of that voice, Dathe, curiously walks up to the board "A riddle?"

Mr. Scakender nods excitedly

"I made it myself, if you can figure out the answer I'll give you.."
He fumbles around in his pocket and pulls out cash. "Two dollars! That's all I have with me."

Dathe's eyes light up at the deal. He glances back at the riddle and smirks.

"No one in first block could figure it out so don't fry your brain trying." Mr. Scakender sits on the table, waiting with a proud grin.

"Wouldn't it be A and W?" Dathe suddenly answers surely with his smirk staying in his face.
..
I look over at Mr. Scakender, He is in shock.
"Is he right?" I ask him, there's no way he got the right answer so quickly.

"Yeah, I am. It's obvious by his expression." Dathe chuckles gesturing to our teacher.

looking at him I realize hes right, Mr. Scakender looks like he's seen a ghost. I cant help but giggle.

Glancing at me then back at Mr. Scakender, Dathe speaks out
"My two dollars please?"

Scakender reluctantly reaches over to him and hands the money over. Dathe moves closer to me and offers me a dollar.

" I didn't solve it though? " To be honest, I still don't understand it.

He just puts it in my desk anyway  "You helped me though." He smiles .

I don't see how I did but I don't say anything. I'm lost looking at him.
