Oliver POV:

When I arrived back home I was treated by my son jumping into my arms. "I missed you, Buddy." I smiled at him before kissing the top of his head.

"I missed you too! I wanna go get new action figures!" He said excitedly.

"Were you good?" I asked him before smiling.

A grin crossed his face. "Duh!"

I chuckled. "Let me put my bags away and make sure I don't have any meetings."

He nodded and followed me to my bedroom. Erin came out of the closet to a red dress. "Oliver,"

I looked at her before setting my bags down. What could she possibly want now?

"How was your trip?" She sat down the bed to slip on her high heels. "You've been in New York a lot."

"For my job, Erin."

"Mhm." I rolled my eyes before taking a deep breath. Why was she like this? Nola isn't like this. Beautiful, amazing Nola. Erin couldn't take a break from being a bitch for one minute, could she? She just had to push and push. Especially since our son was in the room.

"Erin, you wanted me to be president, so here I am. Being fucking president."

"I didn't expect you to be in New York for a more than a week." Erin stood up and straightened her dress. "I'm not fighting. Not right now."

That was fucking new.

"I'm taking Blake out. I don't have a meeting until one." I informed her before grabbing different clothes and changing in the closet.

"Fine."

I took Blake's hand and lead him out of the bedroom. "Breakfast?" I looked down at my son and asked with a smile.

"Breakfast," he agreed with a grin spread across his face.

We left, with security with us of course and headed out.

We went to a small restaurant and went inside. We sat down and Blake ordered waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. He made me laugh at how much whipped cream he asked for.

"What, Daddy?" He giggled and drank his chocolate milk.

"Oh nothing," I chuckled. "You're adorable."

He grinned at me. I loved his smile, it had so much life to it and it never failed to make me happy - even if I'm having an awful day, this kid will always make me happy. No matter what, I'm sure. I got lucky to be blessed with such an amazing son, despite who his mother is. I couldn't help but think back to when Erin was...nicer. But she's power hungry.

When our food came, Blake dug in and he was absolutely loving these waffles.

Spend more time with your son. Nola's text message lingered in my mind as I watched my son with a real, happy, smile plastered on my face.

I decided to text her once we were done breakfast. Blake deserves my full attention. I rarely had free time and this one of the times, I finally was able to have some. And this is the only way I'd want to spend it. Maybe I can bring Blake to New York next time and he can get something at the bakery. I bet he'd love that. He'd fall in with with Nola instantly- wait, why am I still thinking about Nola. For fućk sakes.

"Daddy?" Blake asked as he finished up his waffles and set his fork down on the plate.

"Yes?" I asked before taking a sip of my coffee.

"Can I go with you when you have to go on a trip next?" He looked at me with his big brown eyes that got me each and every time and I think he some how knew that.

"Of course you can. We'll just have to bring along a nanny because I don't think your mom will come with us," I told him and ruffled his hair.

"I don't want Mommy to come with us anyway." He surprised me with the words that blurred out of his mouth. "She's no fun and she always ruins our fun."

"That's not nice to say about your mother, Blake," even if it is true.

"Mommy says mean things about you all the time," Blake admitted.

Of course she does, why should I expect anything different from Erin. "Alright, it's time to go. We'll go to the store to get you a toy, okay?"

His little face lit up and jumped up quickly from his seat to let me clean up his face and hands before we headed to the store.

We arrived at Target and security followed us as we made our way down the toy aisle.

"This one!" Blake picked up a Spider-Man action figure.

"Alright, you can get two more." I told him and leaned against the shelf of toys as I watched him.

To my surprise, he picked out a Han Solo and Luke Skywalker action figures. It put a small smile on my face.

"These look cool, Daddy! Looks what's in their hands!"

I chuckled, "Those are lightsabers."

His eyes widened, "You know what these are?!"

I let out a laugh, "Yes, I use to watch Star Wars when I was little. That's Han Solo and Luke Skywalker."

"They have movies? Can we watch them?!"

Him being so excited about this excited me and made me really happy. "Of course we can."

He ran over to me and wrapped his little arms around my leg. I pick him up and hugged him. I missed my son so much and I highly regret giving into Erin and running in that fuckíng election.

"Come on, Lets pay for those and go home. Daddy had some meetings to attend."

He nodded. We paid for his action figures before leaving and going home.

Blake went down for a nap due to be so tired out from our day together.

I went into my office and took out my phone and texted Nola: I did. I spent the morning with him. It...It was honestly so fuckįng amazing.

I set my phone face down on the wooden desk and ran a hand through my hair. I had a lot to think about.
